The luxurious Quest cruise ship from Seabourn has launched Mediterranean cruise service this month. The Quest is the latest edition to the Seabourn Odyssey-class fleet, and has been anticipated for quite some time. The ship weighs in at 32,000 tons and offers sumptuous spa, 24/7 room service and four restaurants run by on-board celebrity chef Charlie Palmer.

The Quest is 3 times larger than smaller ships operated by Seabourn, but only carries twice the number of passengers at a full capacity of 450. That means guests will enjoy a feeling of more space and privacy onboard, as well as the highly regarded Seabourn traditions of open bar and no tipping. Cruisers on the early sailings report that the ship surpassed all of their expectations, yet some complained that the service on the smaller Seabourn ships was superior to that on the Quest.

Greeks Arrest U.S. Ship Captain

Greeks have arrested the captain of U.S. ship, "Audacity of Hope". John Klusmire, the captain of this ship was captured by the Greeks, a ship whose passengers and crew were to help lead a ship bound for Gaza. Jane Hirschmann, one of the members of the crew said that it was total intimidation that the Greeks were treating them like that.
The Audacity of Hope which had 36 passengers on board was stopped and people were captured by a Coast Guard vessel 10 minutes after it crossed Perama. Four passengers have been told to stay on board the ship but most passengers are staying the ship to show a united front against the Greeks.
The trip by this ship is meant to commemorate an incident in which Israeli troops boarded Mavi Marmara, a Turkish ship filled aid and 700 activists from various countries. This incident happened in May 2010. But the unfortunate turn of events led to the ship being held by the Greeks.

Travelers on Greek island holidays will discover that each island has an individual identity and caters to different tastes. It can also be a great way for learners of the Greek language to get familiarize with Greek words. Villa holidays in Crete are popular with walkers, as the size of the island affords a three mile stroll to the beach each day. Those more interested in religious artifacts and history will prefer villa holidays in Paphos, Cyprus.

Each island is beautiful in its own way, and there are many tour operators that can help travelers visit several islands in one trip. According to travel writer Chris Deliso, Crete is the ideal destination to experience the variety of the Greek islands in one spot, as it boasts important historical sites, good food, traditional villages and bustling nightlife. Food is an important part of Greek culture, and Crete is known for the use of fresh herbs in local dishes.
