Twisting Away...

I've been held captive!

Captivated I should say --- by these Washcloths...
I've knocked out 3 so far...and gave one away to a dear friend. (hi kel)

Which will be packaged up with a little surprise inside and arrive before XMAS.
Like this!

Cute!
One day knitting. Two cloths per Sugar and Cream Skein. Not too Shabby!
Flower Power Washcloth Pattern

Central Park Hoodie...
Cables, Cables, Cables...I just can't get enough of them!
I'm so loving this in the Green...Thank you to you all for all the lovely comments about the green...
Green is Beautiful!
Here's the back all finished in the morning light this am...
that is the true green or as close as my nikon can get.

Perty!

I've also almost finished the left front. See?

I finished a sock and am working on the second...
(Oh the fun, the excitement of the second sock...bleh!)
It's for Pixie, of course...

look how small - you'd think I work faster...
but I've been fully diagnosed with Second Sock Syndrome...
Dr's Orders...send tequila, limes and david beckham to get me motivated.

I've treated myself to a new knitting bag...
I've been coveting this specific bag for a long time.
namaste.JPG
As Pixie says...It's HUGEmongous!
namaste2.JPG
It carries a LOT.

At the store, I've already hit at least 5 women on separate occasions standing in line...
oops.
PERSONAL SPACE? This bag helps you reinforce that notion. hehe.
Multiple pockets, little feet and very compartmentalized. I likey!

ahh, time went so fast this year...
The weather is getting cooler, and I'm so ready for fall.
The wools, the hot cocoa, the colors changing...
Fall is my favorite season for knitting.

Which reminds me...

Fall knitting for SOCKTOBERFEST!
What? Already??!!
You mean It's time to drag out the overstuffed duffel bag that currently houses my sock yarn stash?
mmm, hmm!

Costume Change...

Ever have one of those projects where you know your workmanship is pretty okay...
but it's so blah you are horribly disappointed?
Ever have that sinking feeling?
Yes, yes... it's lovely yarn and WHY it isn't quite making the cut?
Why are the people (My Boyo and Pixie) in your life telling you over and over, it would look better in the green?
Do you find yourself wheedling for a ride to the LYS to exchange it for the pattern specific yarn at 10% off?

Well, this is exactly what happened to me this lovely holiday weekend.

While Ernesto was sweeping my little corner of the coast with swaths of rain...
I sat on the couch looking forlornly at this...
DSCN0735.JPG
Yeah, it looks pretty (unremarkable).
Too much like a cabled sweatshirt, I kept telling myself.
Yeah, but it's Rowan All Seasons Cotton...

sigh.

Ernesto passed...and the sun came out and so did my wallet.
I went to Cloverhill
Where they had Tahki Donegal Tweed for 10% off.
(I saved $7 dollars, people!)

I was weak...I gave in to the Green.

Satisfaction is...covered in tweedy little flecks of blue and orange.

I was also able to partake of a little knit and nosh on Monday at the Borders in Columbia...
Met some lovely new knitters and made controversial statements ;)

Before this... I met up with Lauren for a little dinner and shopping.
DSCN0740.JPG
We both surprised each other with a skein of Euroflax Linen for those hand towels in MasonDixon.
It was really funny because neither of us knew the other had picked up a skein for the other.
I think we'd both been saying how we really wanted some...
and in life's little coincidences...we got some!

I also picked up a new notions tote-thingy -
Partly because mine was slowly shredding itself to death and leaving bits all over my bag,
and partly because I'm a sucker for notions and their respective tote-thingyies.

Doo-Dads...one of the best things about knitting is all the Doo-Dads you can collect.

I've been knitting and listening to this...

I highly recommend this book.
Bill Bryson is irreverent, insightful and dryly hilarious.
All the things I admire.

I've also discovered yet another something in the world I must avoid...
because I love it so and I could eat my weight in it in about 45 seconds...
Pocky.

All in all, not a bad way to spend a holiday...

Hope your basements stayed dry and you enjoyed your holiday weekend!

P.S.
I did make a mistake - arrgh...I ripped back and now have perfect symmetry...
Thank you!
Knitters rule!
