Letting Go of the Knit...

Just in time!
PSMarquee_small.gif
I've finished the MARCH pink Project Spectrum Sweater...It is going to my niece - who I hope it fits. If not, I've asked her mom to send it back and I'll reknit to the larger size. She's just turning 2 so I think I'm in the clear as the pattern states 2-3yr.

Pretty in Pink...

Size:2-3yr

Meh, I always have a wee panic when I'm giving a knit to someone...
All knits given come with a codicil that states...pertaining to said knitted item, it must be returned if not appreciated ahem, if item does not "fit" for redux or gift certificate replacement.
Fit being a relative term, of course.

I think that is a knitters worst fear (outside of gauge going horribly awry or ripping KSH)...
That vision of the person you knitted something for, hating it and putting it into the goodwill pile.

It's a simple raglan sweater...I see all the mistakes...and can't help but doubt in it's welcome.
Maybe that is why I knit for me more than anyone.
I'm always SHOCKED to hear that the giftees really like their beanies/socks/scarves/shawls...

Maybe I need a shot in the ol knitters esteem...
or maybe at some point I need to LET GO OF THE KNIT... heh.
Well, off she goes today *sigh*

Project SPECTRUM April!

I've got my eye on some delish orange sherbert-y, mango-rita froo-froo drink colored sock yarn. mmmm.
I won it on ebay...and this seller Kbrece has more!

This yarn makes me want to visit a beach, have lots of drinks and watch boys with tans!

Me thinks I may even branch out a bit with ye old sock pattern...
Mayhap add a bit of peekaboo lace to make them spring worthy! Shorty cuffs? I can't wait to get it and begin my Tropicana socks!

Work has been crazy, Pixie has been fabulous...and I'm knitting away.
New projects abound. I'm working on projects all over the place. I usually a 2 project maximum knitter! arrgh.
Musn't. Let. The. Knitting. Stress. Me. Out.

Work Project:
I'm about 8 inches into the YTDAW knee sock #2...meetings have been rare - we're on work overload here! She'll be getting some action this week, never fear!

Sliding into second on the work project front, is my PJSpectrum Orange Julius Tropicana TANG Pina-Colata Swirl with an Extra Shot of Rum Socks...Can you tell I'm on a roll today? heh.

Zen in Absolute Quiet Project:
I started Birch from Rowan - I had a lace hankering and am well into my second repeat. Pictures to come once I've determined the lace looks good. This is going to be my quiet time knitting project...when there is only me and tea house music playing...this is my Zen project.....Om...

Must knit for myself or Perish Project:
I also got some really gorgeous Dark Rose Jaeger Matchmaker from the Yarn Swapping Event last month...Thanks to Knittish Rosanna - Thanks SOOO much *hugs*!!
This lovely yarn is quickly becoming my Cutaway Cardi from ChicKnits.
Which also means I am on a QUEST...for a shell button to match the rosy hue of the Jaeger.

Exciting times!
I booked my sister's flight to MD for 2006 SHEEPS and WOOLS!!
AND I'm TAKING OFF 2 WHOLE DAYS BEFORE JUST TO SPEND WITH HER!
Good times!

First Spring Adventures

With spring comes a desire to shed the old gnarly winter skin.
In this case, upon finding NUMEROUS gray hairs...
I have become a woman who MUST dye her hair.
With age comes wisdom, I hope...
eh, C'est La vie!
So I bopped into a *new* salon, threw caution to the wind and gave up my longish hair.

Here is the result.

I love the length...and the ease of styling...and the color.
A new do always perks me right up! (and a pot of coffee)

That's all for now...

Captain Caveman bids you Adieu!

"peace out, ugh."

Project Spectrum

PICT0014.JPG
Ah, it's here! Project Spectrum...
This little heart is courtesy of Pixie...who is getting into PJ Spectrum herself, by doing crafty things in the color theme.

Here is my Pink 2-4yr. Raglan...I am making this for my niece.
One of the things I wanted especially to do for this Month was to knit for others, on top of using my stash.
PJ_March01.JPG

Also, I have to update my progress on Your Tax Dollars At Work socks...
YTDAWSocks.JPG
Thar she grows...I'm still looking for the best kilt like skirt to wear them with...an *age appropriate length* for me which is increasinly hard to find...um, yeah - hello booty length isn't cool!...and also because these babies need to be in my Doc Mary Janes quick!
YTDAWheel.JPG
Lookit my heel...I am very attracted to the heel flap. Especially this one *wink*.

Pony up, peeps!
It's Project Spectrum time...search through your stash, explore the color wheel...and get crackin!
Pixie and I, we're two crafty cowgirls who mean business!
