Oh, how the days are flying by!
My sister Kelly made her 3rd annual trek to Maryland Sheep & Wool this year...
Last year we dyed yarn...this year we did something quite different.
We got Tattoos.
It says Om Mani Padme Hum- Click for translation
I'll let her show you hers...
Needless to say, it was a wonderful experience with my sister...one that I'll remember forever.
Spent the first day like we did last year (Donna came on Sunday)
(more pics to come)
In the blur...
I also have been furiously knitting on TRELLIS.
I fell in love with this years ago...
Decided to make it for my Best Friend Kelley who is expecting her first baby. (!!!)
She also is keeping the gender of the baby a surprise.
(sigh)
BUT....Wonderful for me...being that green was also the color of her nursery.
It also happens that Rowan Wool Cotton comes in a lovely shade of green.
I finished this beauty up on Saturday am (1:03 am - to be exact)
Yo, procrastination, Yo!
I went to the baby shower at Noon on Saturday...she opened my pressie first (yay!)
Happiness all around.
She loved it. She's a great one, she KNOWS the value and effort of a handknitted gift.
I love her for that.
Trellis

Posted by: Tanya at May 16, 2007 11:52 AMLove the tattoo. I think Trellis is such a great pattern for babies, and mine is still unfinished as we speak. I am sure the green you made yours in will be nice on either a boy or a girl. Lucky you being able to go to the sheep festival, always jealous. You didnt show us what you bought there though. Pixie is still gorgeous too, and I am sure there will be lots of boys knocking on the front door soon asking her out on dates.
Posted by: Sue at May 16, 2007 07:26 PMThat little baby sweater is adorable! Isn't it nice that you can procrastinate on those things and still finish? I love baby knits :)
Posted by: Sarah at May 16, 2007 10:42 PMWhere to start??? First those photos of the queen are amazing!!! The tattoo is so cool. Dh and I were just talking about tattoos (watched Anthony Bourdain get one on his show). Adorable baby sweater! My girls look so BIG now it kills me! My mom was just asking me how they grew up so fast. Your Pixie is beautiful!
Posted by: sUsAn at May 17, 2007 02:24 PMHeather!! You MUST tell me ... is that henna? Or real? At first I thought it was henna ... but then I saw that your sister's is a real tattoo, so now I MUST know. I'm very tattooed and am just curious to know if you took the jump or not ... lol
Your daughter is such a cutie pie. Absolutely adorable!
