I finished my clapotee...
I can hardly believe it!
Yarn: Mountain Colors BearFoot Sock Yarn - 2 skeins
Color: Wild Raspberry
Needle: Bryspun Circular US 7
Pattern: Knitty's Clapotis
Modifications: None!
I blocked it to its full length.
It's big!
I'm not sure if all Claps are this big, but I wanted mine to be more shawl-like.
and it is!
I'm all wrapped up in it...and it's soooo soft.
I used SOAK...and I really like it better than Eucalan or Kookaburra Wool wash...
So worth all the time it took to knit it...
I love it.
I must!
I'm wearing it in 60 degree temps today!!
Work it!!! It looks fabulous, nice work!!
Posted by: Add Knitter at March 12, 2007 11:52 AMBeautiful! It's so long - are all claps that length?
Posted by: Kaitie Tee at March 12, 2007 11:55 AMGorgeous!! Brava!!
Posted by: Erin at March 12, 2007 12:00 PMwow, it's HUGE! it must have taken forever, but it's beautiful!
Posted by: may at March 12, 2007 12:10 PMOh, Heather, it's lovely. It looks incredibly long. I had no idea that you were doing *that* much knitting on it. You're going to love it, though.
I've been too image-conscious to reveal this on my blog, but I got the Clapotis that I knitted for my aunt a couple of years ago back last week. I saw it when we were cleaning out her place after she died, and I jumped on it. I'm not happy she died, but I'm feeling a little bit woo hoo about having another Clapotis. If you love yours as much as I love mine, I think you'll understand.
It's gorgeous! I love the colors :)
Posted by: Adam at March 12, 2007 12:16 PMWOW, your clapotis looks really great.
Posted by: catrin at March 12, 2007 12:25 PMHeather, this is stunning!! It sure did grow quickly! Those colors will match so many things in your wardrobe too. I just *love* it! Yeah, I definitely need one... will have the find the right yarn. This Mountain Colors is perfect :)
xo,

Dude -- it's GORGEOUS! Love how open and drapey it looks. And the colors are so vibrant, just like you. Yay for finished Clapotis!
Posted by: Ann at March 12, 2007 12:54 PMOkay - that's one of the BEST FO Action/Modeling shots I've EVER seen! Go H!
Posted by: elisa at March 12, 2007 01:33 PMWow, it looks beautiful! There aren't very many sport-weight Clapotis (mine was sport) around. The lighter weight yarn makes it more drapey. Wear it proudly!
Posted by: MJ at March 12, 2007 01:35 PMIt's beautiful! Very inspired idea using Bearfoot -- it knits up beautfilly as a Clapotis.
Posted by: Janet at March 12, 2007 01:39 PMIt is freakin huge... and I LOVE that about it! I can picture you all wrapped up in it and that seems perfect.
Posted by: Kate at March 12, 2007 02:33 PMIt turned out great. I love the photo. Now I will have to make one.
Posted by: Vickie at March 12, 2007 03:21 PMQue bonita! I can't beleive you got it to be that big with only two skeins of sock yarn! The colors are great and I'm sure you'll get good use out of it.

Posted by: Tanya at March 13, 2007 01:32 PMIt looks awesome!! Very cool!! Now 'fess up ... how hard was it? I have Katia Jamaica yarn sitting aside to make one, but got myself a little confused with the directions. The girls in my knitting group (Sweet Stitchin' Betties) said they'd help me ... that it really isn't hard at all. But I'd like YOUR opinion of the difficulty level ... :)
