...all the stockinette that is.
I'm working on Clapotis. I've always COVETED other people's Clapotee...
SO I started mine. Nothing clears away the blues of an obstinate knitting project like a new one!
I'm talking about McQueen. My yarn hates the cabled triangles. grrr.
So we're taking a brief separation and hopefully will come back together and see things MY way.
I am a fickle woman.
But Crap in a Can - if you were me you couldn't help yourself either eh?! this yarn is SEXAY!
Mountain Colors Bearfoot Wild Raspberry
MMMM.
That is about one skein and a quarter. I have 3. and at 350 yds a skein=a lot.
As you can see....
I'm on the Seventh Repeat of the Straight rows - for all you Clapper Vets out there.
SO...since I'm particularly phobic about Numbers...ahem.
I've decided to do 14 rather than 13 repeats of the straight rows.
That and I have a helluva lot of yarn.
I had a whole week off from work and this is what I had to show for it. har.
ahhh. the life!

That was the delicious...now here is the auspicious.
I'm talking about The Year of the Boar/Pig!
Let's Party like it's 4704!
This, of course, is a brillant segway on my part to show off some pictures of Chinese New Year in Washington DC.
We were cordoned off - but we still got to see...
Truly I was glad to be able to take Pixie and see the delight on her face as we watched the Festivities...Then we came home and read all about the Year 2007 on the Internet.
Dragons...
It was a beautiful sight...and it was CROWDED. So many people celebrating!
As if all that wasn't auspicious enough...
I found this in my salad.
Not too Shabby.
Happy New Year!
Posted by Heather at February 21, 2007 03:26 PMGorgeous Calpotis. You're right - the color is yum.
Look at those freckles on the cold nose of my niece! Adorable!
Hugs!
Posted by: kelly at February 21, 2007 05:39 PMMake sure you keep the 4 leaf clover and press it in a book. My daughter's kindergarten teacher was in her 50's and she had a little book which had about 11 4 leaf clovers in it that she had found throughout her life. She said that by keeping them pressed in there was for the good luck to last, and she did seem to have a wonderful filled life too. The clapotis is looking good too, and what a way to knit up a lot of yarn too.
Posted by: Sue at February 21, 2007 06:20 PMYou are moving so quickly on the Clap! I just love those colors! It is a beautiful knit, and I know you will wear it all of the time :)
What a great day! Fun pics from the celebration. You are such a lucky girl!

Posted by: Ann at February 22, 2007 09:10 AMThanks for all of the New Year's pics. Looks like loads of fun. I was trying to peek at sweet Pixie's hat under her hat. Looks very interesting. Love the clap, hate stockinette. Better you than me :)

Posted by: Tanya at February 22, 2007 02:44 PMFun! Happy Chinese New year! :)
the clappy can get slightly boring. by the third one I had to resort to long-drive knitting to get the sucker done.
Posted by: Moni at February 22, 2007 08:42 PMI love the Clap! It's fun to knit, and that yarn is amazing. And those dimples on Pixie are too cute.
Happy New Year to you and Pixie!
Posted by: Carrie at February 23, 2007 11:01 AM"But Crap in a Can" ...that made me laugh out LOUD. GF, you are too funny.
And tell Pixie I want my dimples back, already. (Man, how I envy her dimples and incredibly cute face!)
Posted by: Becky at February 23, 2007 04:39 PMI vowed I would never knit another Clappy, but I might just have to knit one after seeing yours. I knit mine out of a single color yarn and wound up giving it to a friend for her birthday . . . maybe a nice colorway is for me. Hmmm!
Posted by: Ava at February 23, 2007 06:08 PM1. I love the clap!
2. I still giggle when I say that.
3. I've been looking my entire life for a 4 leafed clover. You lucky gal!
