A Hue of Blue...

Denmark_socks.JPG

Completed: 2007
Yarn: Socks that Rock
Color: In the Navy
Needle: US 1.5 Metal DPN
Pattern: Nancy Bush's Denmark
Size: Knit to pattern but with smaller needles for a Size 6 foot.

I'd have to say that these are the most challenging socks I've knit to date.
They weren't hard...I just psyched myself out with all the details.
and in my haste to finish...I have one with a wonky toe.
ha!
I said Wonky Toe.
har.har. It's sad to be so easily amused.

I put McQueen's Front aside for these babies. They were very addicting.
I (of course) started a new pair of socks.
What can I say...I'm a sock crazy gal.

Project Spectrum v2.0 for me this year is all about the socks from my stash.
My after thought NYears resolution this year was to only wear knit socks -
(aside from working out) and to do that...I have to knit more!
Oh snap.

Confetti Sock yarn.
Last night as I was knitting next to my Honey...
I gasped "It's got Purple in it!"
I got "The Look" -
you know... the one where you can see they are thinking...
...overexposure to yarn can be harmful to your significant other's mental state?

I paused in my knitting.
Do I continue?
Yup!
I'm totally expanding my horizons with the Purple.
I'm not generally a fan of the Purple.
I'd say up until today - I've been Anti-Purple.
The Purple is one of those things I gladly leave to my Sister's domain.
She loves the Purple.
Me? Well, this is a giant Purple leap for me colorwise.

I got this yarn in the Second Annual Fabulous Yarn Swap of 2007 hosted by Ms. Sarah and Ms. Lara.
Which was fabulous and so much fun.

Onto the 2007 baby boom.

I knitted a pair of baby socks from the Socks that Rock, and gave them to a co-worker who is having a boy.
Blast! I forgot to take a pic.
That is alrighty because I'm currently knitting another pair for a friend.
An upside to having smaller feet is that a skein goes a long way.
Let me detail this for you...

Woolarina Sock Yarn.
2 skeins=1 pair of socks, yes?

woolerinasocks.JPG
I also was able to make these adorable little vittles...which is so shimmery...
I'm going to have to get more.
woolarina_baby.JPG

That is awesome, eh?
They go into the vault with the others I'm currently knitting.
Someone VERY dear to me is having a baby...and isn't finding out if I should be knitting in Pink or Blue.
Humph. Grumble. Gnash. Grumble. heehee
I'm so totally thrilled even I have to wait - it's going to be a surprise...
SOOOOOO, I'm stashing away baby socks by using up all my sock leftovers in various colors.
Super Genius that I am...I know that people will continue to have babies...
and I can't lose by always having a knit or *three* to give.

I love all the socks pictured ... just yummy!

What colorway is the Confetti sock yarn? I do love the purple so it would be perfect.

Nothing wrong will all socks, all the time. With the cold this week, I'm thinking about hoarding as many as possible, too. The blue ones are especially gorgeous!

The idea of keeping extra baby sets around is a good one. I've thought about using my sock leftovers for baby socks to go to Dulann or osme other charity. I'm sure keeping them on hand will come in handy as well.

That is some fabulous yarn, both the blue and the pinky colored! I'm loving it all!

Wonky Toe. Har. I always get a kick out of the street next to mine: Knoblick. Har!

The new STR socks are so lovely! and they are squishy too! Fabulous ;) I want to try this pattern someday soon. And my, you didn't waste any time jumping in with the new yarn either. SO perfect for PS!

I should follow suit with leftover sock yarn and baby socks... that is a good idea.

xo,
L

PS--Don't let McQ lay too long - it is gray, another PS color!

The Confetti is my fav but the blue socks are really sweet looking. Socks are so addictive to knit aren't they?

Haha! You got the look too? I only get 'the look' from my sister or my dad about my knitting. I think I may have the only husband who is totally behind my knitting. He brags about it at work, and wants me to show all of his friends that I carry my knitting with me. When it comes to taking pictures of him in my knitting, however, that's when I get 'the look'.

Love tiny baby knits. Who's got a bambino on the way? And those blue socks are breathtaking. I miss keeping up with you. Give me a buzz sometime.

You finished them! They look great. I have had a transformation from not wanting to wear my socks out to now I don't want to wear anything else. My 3 pairs are getting a real workout!

I am with you about the purple. Ack!

Adorable baby set!

I love the blue socks, and the confetti ones look great too. I am in love with the baby socks, and the little set is adorable and so is the color. I have a plastic tub which I put all of my finished baby knits into, and when person I know is having a baby I give a gift of one of them to their newborn. It also stops me trying to rush to finish something, and it uses up small balls of yarn that are leftover too.

Lovin' the sockie goodness here! Those baby knits are adorable! I need to work on my sock yarn stash too.
