I have a question...
What happened to the optimistic days of being able to wander
free and ignorant of the possible mishap of not constantly being communicado?
Grr!
A normally incoherant woman....
Today, I've been reduced to a frazzled woman with her rump in the air rooting underneath her front seats...
This display was in the Sports Authority Parking lot - (It's Soccer Season!)
I realized I'd forgotten my cell phone -
Apparently, I am propelled by fear to retrieve this AT ALL COSTS.
I can't quite feel like all is well if that sucker isn't right next to me waiting to ring.
57 minutes into my 60 minute lunch break I discover it on the coffeetable.
AT HOME.
What was so important to walk straight out the door forgetting my little ball and chain?
What better reason than my Knitting.
My Knitting...Oh My Knitting.
I'm 4 projects active right now...This is a record.
Calgon...take me away.
My Tunique Back is coming along nicely...
Orangina...
Pixie Sock #1...
ASC Central Park...
How many Neutrals can you spot!?
Variety..it's the newest accessory.
One to knit at work...
One to take a break from the Orangina...
One to work on at home...
and the other because I'm weak!!
:) gotta love it!
If this is stress...Pile it on!
I'll gladly be overknit!
Our littlest addition...
Pumpkin!
Pixie's such a good caretaker!
They are so cute together!
I can't help but play with her after Pixie goes to sleep...she's so tame and sweet!
It's been a bit busy!
Tonight...I'm turnin off the phone...
watching kids kick around some soccer balls...and Knittin!
That's what I'm talking about!
Posted by Heather at August 24, 2006 01:07 PMOur Soccer starts next weekend. We will be visiting Dick's sporting Goods this weekend to gear up the two munchkins. All your projects look great as usual. And if I can be so bold as to ask how's Ei? we miss her out in blogland but don't want to intrude on her private life ya know. :)
Posted by: Erin at August 24, 2006 02:50 PMThis whole scene is SO Larry David, I swear. I was rolling ;) Curb YOUR Enthusiasm, H! hehehe
YOu know what occured to me? No offense, whatsoever, but Pumpkin and the dearly departed HARVEY are distant cousins... except you paid for little Pumpkin and gave her a ball to play in! ;) Of course, she doesn't have potential diseases and all of that...
Nothin' but love, gf~
Posted by: Lolly at August 24, 2006 03:01 PMOh my god oh my god! I LOVE hampsters!!! If my cat wasn't a murderous freak I'd so get one for Zoe. SO CUTE!
You're like me with the 500 WIP's. lol.
Posted by: pam at August 24, 2006 03:07 PMOhhh Pumpkin is so so so adorable!!
I think I'm going to make the Central Park Hoodie too!!!
Posted by: Claudia at August 24, 2006 03:21 PMPumpkin is a cutie! And I know what you mean about the cell phone, too, tho mine is for work and I always worry that I'll "get in trouble" for not having it, in addition to the whole incommunicado thing.
And 4 projects is not so many... I can't wait to see all the progress!
Posted by: Sarah at August 24, 2006 04:16 PMHAMSTER! I used to have hamsters when I was Pixie's age. That totally brings me back. Love the pic of him in the teacup!
Posted by: melanie at August 24, 2006 04:44 PMOh goodness. What is cuter than a small rodent in a tea cup!! Cinderelly, cinderelly.... (small disney reference)
Posted by: Sarah at August 24, 2006 05:22 PMAw, I love Pumpkin! I have some somewhat traumatic hamster stories that I'll save for another time.
As for the multiple projects, I think people go in cycles. Sometimes we knitters are monagamous, sometimes we're slutting that yarn all over the place.
I was just thinking about you today! Wow, you've been busy with all the knitting!
I am the EXACT SAME WAY with my cell phone. Leaving it at home is about as frightening as having a body part spontaneously wilt & fall off... you' think I was born with the thing attached to me!
Hugs & Kisses for you and Pixie!
Posted by: keowdie at August 24, 2006 09:25 PMawwww hello Pumpkin, too cute!
I love the central park hoodie, it that from the new interweave??
pumpkins is very cute, indeed! You are busy busy with all of your projects! I have quite a few I'm working on so I know the feeling :)

Posted by: Becky at August 25, 2006 10:21 AMLove those neutrals -- even Pumpkin is a neutral!
I covet ALL your projects. Please finish them soon! :)
Hi, lurker here ;) What yarn are you using for the Central Park Hoodie? I've been thinking of starting that sweater, and looking for yarn ideas! Pumpkin is *adorable*. I love hamsters :)
Posted by: Gina at August 25, 2006 11:22 AMThat is some very fun knitting you have going on....I have already had 3 weeks of funfilled soccer adoration. It is truly an uplifting event that I look forward to, no really, I do... Love to you both...
Posted by: Cathee at August 25, 2006 12:55 PMLoving your Pumpkin! He looks so soft and adorable! I can relate about the cell...funny "rump" story! ;)
Posted by: sUsAn at August 25, 2006 02:02 PMYou and I have switched places! I have only two current on the needles! Twilight Zone!
I had a hamster who looked like Pumpkin, his name was biscuit. He hated me and used to bite me.
I gave him to my best friend Justin, and Biscuit loved him, and would sit in his pocket. I have never forgiven Biscuit for this. ;-)
Posted by: Jenny at August 25, 2006 02:44 PMPumpkin is adorable! Love the cabled hoodie. Your colors are warm and cozy.
Posted by: Michelle at August 25, 2006 05:01 PMI usually don't realize I haven't brought my cell phone when I come home and find it on the table!!! Ha!
Posted by: Erin at August 25, 2006 05:58 PMOh Pumpkin looks so sweet and adorable. It seems as though you will be busy for a bit too. Did you know that the Central Park Hoodie knitalong is starting on the 1st of September, maybe you should join up.
Posted by: Sue at August 25, 2006 07:58 PMThe picture of Pumpkin just cracked me up as last night my husband and I were remembering all the pet rodents that our children had when they were young...great memories! I want to knit that hoodie, too! Jane
Posted by: jane at August 26, 2006 08:13 AMWait a minute! Weren't you recently doing anything you could to rid yourself of some of little Pumpkin's cousins? I'm confused here...
Having said that, I once had a guinea pig named Turbo, and he was a cutie.
I've also seen a girl on the tram here once with a huge white rat in her blouse. It was cuddling up with her boobies. No joke.
Maybe you've found a happy medium with Pumpkin.
Posted by: Krista at August 26, 2006 01:19 PMGAH!! I never thought I would see anything on your blog that could be cuter than you or your Pixie, but I have to say... a hamster in a teacup! That's pretty darned cute!
Posted by: pinky at August 27, 2006 07:51 PMI agree about phones I have stopped answering all of them! Now every call goes to voice mail. I check messages and I call everyone back but when it is convienent for me. Half of the calls are just to give info that can be left on voice mail anyways. Cell phones give me anxiety I feel like I need to answer it if I hear ringing. No Peace! Sorry for the rant and rave!
Posted by: Gina L at August 28, 2006 12:52 AMgosh, how I missed reading your blog. Oh, the hami is so cute...nice projects :-) U know, the more the merrier :-)
Posted by: sherry at August 31, 2006 01:23 PMYou need to send Pumpkin's picture to cuteoverload.com. What a cute little ball of fluff. Just so you know, I play with the piggies when the kids go to school. I can't resist. For the record, you're the first blog I've read and commented on in probably three months - yikes!
