Summer Fun...

I've been enjoying this summer to the fullest!
After Camp Cold Frosty Slurpees, Saturday Swims, Ponytails, lots of 50 SPF,
Tank tops and Shorts, Bike Rides, Pink Flip Flops, Butterfly Garden Picnics,
DC Museums, Melty Drippy Ice Cream Cones, Sketching and Painting...
and finally, after many a hot day, Just Chillin' with AC blasting -
Sitting down... (her) reading and (me) knitting.

Perfect.

I've been toting around...

I'm coming into the homestretch with this guy...
Still entertained..and always a good project on the go.

and...Glampyre's Orangina

Yup, That would be Rowan 4Ply Cotton...
I saw Isel's in Cotton Glace at Sheep and Wool...and loved it!

I can already tell it's going to be super for summer wear.
It's a super easy to memorize lace pattern...
and it's not too hot to knit outside...
Summer Knitting is all about keeping cool!
I heart rowan 4ply cotton!
I knitted a lot of this at the beach!

Oh Yeah!
Went to the beach this weekend...(Ocean City, Maryland)
It was a bit overcast...but still relaxing.
SO much that I didn't really take a lot of pics!

Nothing like a Margarita at the Beach...mmmm!

I did make it to one Knitting/Needlpoint store in Delaware...
where I bought that magazine, a project for Pixie and a Counted CrossStitch kit.

Looks like you had a lot of fun. We were at the beach too! Myrtle Beach, SC and Pixie is cute as a button. Mine starts 4th and 2nd on the 25th of Aug. and Orangina is looking good!

The beach looks like fun, but swim camp sounds pretty good too! Go Orangina!

Looks like you had a great time at the beach! Can't wait to see Orangina on you... it's perfect for your frame.

That Pixie is a funny one. It's good to know that she has some of her own crafty intentions.

The bleached orangina will look fab on you, fer sure. Even though you think it's fun now, don't worry, you'll get bored with all those tiny stitches soon enough...

I can't believe your beach is Ocean City! I've heard about that place my whole life. My parents must have had great times there! My entire family is from Maryland ... mother, father, brother, sister, cousins, etc. I am THE ONLY one born in Miami, Florida. Very cool. And your daughter is just the cutest, cutest!! Pixie ... what a perfect name for her!

Yay! You updated! And with a bonus photo of the ever-growing Pixie and her adorable dimples.

That lace in 4 ply looks so delicate and lightweight. You're a star for knitting cotton on such teeny needles. And will you still be up for some linen? Eh? :-)

What a great post -- it has everything good about summer. Knitting, family, beach, margaritas... Glad you had a great time!

It looks like you and Pixie are having an awesome summer. I love the beach and made a one day journey out to O.C. just to play in the sand with my cousins' kids. I love how orangina is turning out. If you hadn't said anything I would have assumed it was a complicated pattern. By the way, we've killed three mice and are dealing with one final supermouse who seems to be smarter than us. Happy Summer!

Good times. Yeah, Mom, don't remind us that summer is flyin' by! PS: Love that plastic canvas--she is going to be a crafty gal like her mom.

I am so happy to hear that you got home safely! and that you had a good time in OC! Great pics of Miss Coppertone and her mommy crafting it up ;) Did you go to Sea Needles in Bethany or the Spinning Wheel on Fenwick?

Hope we can talk soon - I missed you!

Is that yarn Magic Stripes? Boy I love that Lion yarn ... I have almost all the colourways and made 3 pairs already. That must be one of the deepest dimple I've ever seen! Cute!

Why, thank you!
White? WOWZA! That's going to be one hot Orangina, baby.

Oh, the beach. I miss it so much.

How nice! Pixie is an absolute doll baby! Looks like you guys are enjoying your summer!

Summer is flying by. I'm pretty sure I'd have the exact same response as Pixie!

Posted by: Erin at July 27, 2006 03:19 PM

Ocean city! Yay!
Your Orangina looks fantastic, but it needs a new name on account of it's not orange.
Nor is your name Gina.

I'm with pixie "Don't remind me!" I don't want to go throught the snow and cold of winter :P.

So glad you two are having such a good summer!

Hi, Pixie Heather! Your summer sounds so perfect! I'm in denial that we're fast approaching the fall.

Oh... I want that view tooo!!! :)

Orangina is a great pattern, all troubles I had aside, I enjoyed knitting it. (except the ribbing...ugh)

My daughter breaks necks with her tan. She's golden brown, her hair is sun highlighted, and her blue eyes are like, neon blue next to her skin. These kids and their ability to be beyond beautiful...

It's wonderful to see how great a relationship you have with your daughter. I hope I can develop something similar with my little ones. Such a difficult task to actually make them like you, wouldn't you say? I'm guessing all that quality time certainly doesn't hurt.

Pixie is so cute in that picture!!!

Posted by: Jenny at July 29, 2006 07:37 PM

Oh she's so damn cute!

Your beach looks exactly like the print in the Munki Munki fabric! I heart Orangina too, sigh, so many 'to-knits'.

ooh, patron! ;)

I LOVE that sock colorway! I've used it before, and will probably use it again!
