With spring comes a desire to shed the old gnarly winter skin.
In this case, upon finding NUMEROUS gray hairs...
I have become a woman who MUST dye her hair.
With age comes wisdom, I hope...
eh, C'est La vie!
So I bopped into a *new* salon, threw caution to the wind and gave up my longish hair.
Here is the result.
I love the length...and the ease of styling...and the color.
A new do always perks me right up! (and a pot of coffee)
That's all for now...
Captain Caveman bids you Adieu!
"peace out, ugh."
I love the new do! You and your girly are just so damn cute.
Posted by: Scout at March 14, 2006 09:41 AMI love the new hair, SO CUTE!! I too am going to be one who "Must Dye Hair" I've got a few greys poking out now that I'm trying to let my natural color show. Yeah, so much for that crap!!
Posted by: Kate at March 14, 2006 10:13 AMThe new do looks FAB!! (I want my hair to do that now too...)It looks like you and Pixie had a ton of fun at the Smithsonian - I've been thinking about the best way to distract the guards and bumrush the cases of jewels since I was six. Maybe if we put our heads together, we'll come up with a foolproof plan!
Posted by: Holly at March 14, 2006 10:17 AMWow I love it!! I agree, there is something about a new hairdo that does wonders for one's mood and self-esteem! Looking gorgeous! :-)
Posted by: Claudia at March 14, 2006 10:18 AMThat was a really fun post! I love your new haircut. So mod, hip, youthful, flattering... what can I say? It's hot! :)
Posted by: Karma at March 14, 2006 10:21 AMHi Heather! Isn't it scary going to a new salon for the first time? It was a good choice though because your hair looks great! Pixie is as cute as ever!
Posted by: Karen at March 14, 2006 10:32 AMLove the new look. Young and hip, just like you.
I can't wait to see the blossoms, they are a fascinating sight.

Looks like you and pixie had such a fun outing to a great museum. Rock on!
PS. I really, really wish I could knit at work. Socks look good!
Posted by: Ann at March 14, 2006 11:11 AMI love your hair. That's exactly the kind of hair cut that I would love to get (once I cut off all the hair I'm growing for Locks of Love), but my hair is just too straight and fine to do that, so I will have to live that hairdo dream through you.
Posted by: Susan at March 14, 2006 11:21 AMThe hairdo looks fab, as does the first sock. In the "I see you" pic, you and pixie both look like teenagers! So cute. I hope you had fun in DC, the cherry blossums are starting to come out, they are so pretty. I love spring here. Best to you and the girl.
Posted by: Jenna at March 14, 2006 11:21 AMDude, you are TOTALLY rockin' that new do! It looks fabulous! And Pixie's smile is fabulous as well.
That sock is amazing. I'm glad my tax dollars are going towards it. ;)
Posted by: Carrie at March 14, 2006 11:34 AMAhhhhhh, I love the new "do" even more than I like the old "do" that I emailed you about. You are the happenin' girl with the hair, I'll tell you what!! It is WAY too cool!!
Posted by: Christine at March 14, 2006 12:17 PMI knit on "Your Tax Dollars At Work Socks" during my work day too! 3 pairs in my desk drawer to pull out at a moments notice!

Posted by: michal at March 14, 2006 12:42 PMYour hair always looks fabo dahling. Grey hairs? Pshaw! And I too lurv me some jewels. I try to get to the MNH once a year for the same reason - to gaze longingly at all those gems. Of course, I'm sure that you and Pixie distracted everyone with your own "glow." Missin' ya!

Posted by: Tanya at March 14, 2006 01:36 PMI love the Museum of Natural History. That was always my favorite place to go in D.C.... besides the zoo of course!
Posted by: Erin at March 14, 2006 01:45 PMStrange as it may seem, I believe I have seen that cut before. As I am positive that I may have given you a similar style only in black... It looks very cute... tell the bug I love her... I will chat @ you this pm..

Loved the pics of you & Pix. Makes me looks oh so much for this May!
Cute baby sweater. And, it's nice to know that my tax dollars have produced such a fine sock. Can't wait to see its mate completed & peeking out of some Doc-Mary Janes!
Posted by: keowdie at March 14, 2006 04:43 PMSassy Space Girl Strikes Back!!! I love it. You have very good luck with new do's. I, unfortunately, do not. I always end up growing mine back out. We must know our strengths, that's what I say.
Am I the only one who now wants to shout out (but cannot in this paltry text box medium) Captain CAAAAAAAAVE MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
Posted by: melanie at March 14, 2006 07:02 PMHey Girl...your new "do" is awesome. Looks great on you! Looks like a fun weekend w/your pixie ; ) Hopefully tomorrow night will work out for us. I haven't seen you in for-ev-er! xo D
Posted by: Donna at March 14, 2006 07:52 PMLoving the new do! Suits you perfectly! SOunds like a fun weekend you gals had!
Posted by: Kelly at March 14, 2006 09:30 PMWhat are you talking about with the whole gray hair bit?! With as much time as we spend together, I have never seen a single one! But, that being said, I *love* the new hair! Too bad I have not seen it in person yet. The light color is very flattering, as is the little "flippies" in the back (that is a good thing!) I have a hard time pulling off the short/pixie haircut, while you are the mistress of it! Sexy baby!
Look at you and lil Pix. I just adore those photos - just like I adore the 2 of you! We should hit some museums on a weekend together. You know me and museums ;) The knits look splendid! That little raglan is going to be a beauty, and the socks are perfecto.
Talk to you tomorrow, girlfriend ~
xo,
L
