Resolute in my Stash...

I'm seeing all these 2006 Resolutions in all the Blogs...I love reading them.

I have to say that really I only have one!

My Knitting Resolution is....(drumroll, please!)
------------------------------------------------------
Knit 80% of my 2006 projects from The Stash!

(Audience goes wild!!!)

Seriously folks, I have an entire DUFFLE bag full of sock yarn, and the LARGEST plastic tub you can buy filled with yarn (I mean the good stuff, too), two lantern moon baskets filled to the brim...I have at least 6 sweater projects stashed.

It's time to thin out The Stash..
see??It's become an entity...it gets capitalized now. Oy.
I can feel it creeping around behind me! I swear I saw it move!
hehe.

Wanna know the really sick part?
I'm already justifying my 2006 MD Sheep and Wool purchases!
Yes, I have a list in my knitting bag of what I "need" to get.
Damn you, Tess Designer Yarns! Damn you, Morehouse Merino! I'm WEAK!

All this Drama!
Which brings me to the new 2006 knit I cast on for last week...FROM The Stash!
Sex-ay Cowl
Knit and Tonic's Somewhat Cowl
Thank you guys for your opinions...and the Cowl pretty much won out!
I'm waiting for my sister to get her felted tweed...(her first rowan yarn!) and then Salina will be my next project...

Ze Cowl...
Using Silky Wool in Moss - I got gauge spot on with US4s.
Moss

I love how light and thin it's knitting up...it's a very fine fabric and I hope to have more to show soon.
The pattern is very simple and well written and I'm enjoying it.
I hope I can do the pattern and the yarn justice.

I of course, forgot to take a pic of my progress last nite and it's looking so perfect...
*ahem*
I almost thought someone else was knitting it!
haha!

Thanks for all the awesome comments on My Main Man Gnomey...it was a lot of fun!
A lot of you have been asking where I got the pattern and how to get it...

It was in the November Issue of Simply Knitting and it was an additional leaflet to the magazine.
I always buy my simply knitting from my local Borders, and I have been known to overspend and buy a missed issue from Ebay. That means paying for shipping from the UK, But I love the magazine, so it is a guilty pleasure!

Big News coming soon...
Have a great week!

Holla!

Great resolution! This year I'm getting me some Tess' and Brook Farms too. What was I thinking last year?

Can't wait to see your cowl. Love the green.

Good Resolution... You do have quite a stash!
I can't wait to see that sweater on you... I think it's gonna look so cute!
Haven't talked with you in a while... & I'm hoping you're doing great! Love you!

I have to agree, I think that's a great resolution. A bunch of my friends have that resolution. In fact, I have that resolution, but only because I really can't afford to buy much yarn... my stash is actually quite tame compared to some!

You resolution is such a good one - I need to get with the program and do the same thing. My stash is growing from all of the deals I have been finding lately! hehe

LOVE the cowl - the green is so great, and will look so beautiful with your hair, sweety. Can't wait to see that one knit up.

A duffle bag of sock yarn? my my. I have a small basket! Can't wait to see the Tess yarns at S&W though... only 5 months away!

xo

I cracked up when you called Lolly your BFF. So cute!

I too can't wait for Tess' booth at MS&W.

Posted by: Christy at January 9, 2006 12:40 PM

Go team Pixie! :)

I'm justifying whatever gorging I do at MD S&W by saying that the (majority) of the rest of my projects will be from stash yarn. Makes sense, right?

I'm all a-flutter waiting for your big news!

Posted by: elisa at January 9, 2006 01:43 PM

You can do it! I'm knitting from the stash until MDS&W so I can buy a haul of yarn. I'm debating getting my plane tickets now while they are super cheap so I have more of a budget for yarn.

The somewhat cowl is going to look fab on you.

Girl you are too good! So excited to see the cowl..it is just adorable and that color will look so great on you, you hot mama ; )

Posted by: Donna at January 9, 2006 02:01 PM

Your resolution may or may not defy the laws of physics.
Best of luck to you!

I'm glad that you went with the cowl, you will be like a sexy dragon lady in the green, rorw!

I'm also going to take on my stash, small as it is, and I'm planning my major yarn binges for the Springwater superbowl sale and Sheep and wool. Helps plan for the budget, you know.

Love the cowl! It's gonna look fab.

I'm totally with you on the knitting from stash this year. I've run out of storage space -- must knit faster!

(If you get bored with something in your stash, let me know--maybe a stash swap is in order to help move the resolutions forward....)

Posted by: Ann at January 10, 2006 08:55 AM

OoOoOoOoOo that's a great resolution.

Posted by: Carrie at January 10, 2006 12:48 PM

Good luck with the de-stashing - I have no doubt you'll pull it off with a stash as lovely as that. I LOVE the somewhat cowl by the way...can't wait to see the progress. :-)

Posted by: Vicki at January 10, 2006 03:02 PM

what a great resolution! I should do the same thing... God knows I don't need anymore yarn :)

Posted by: Moni at January 10, 2006 06:04 PM

Yes, that should be my 2006 knit resolution too! Can't wait to see your somewhat cowl. Can't wait to see yours.

Posted by: Siow Chin at January 10, 2006 08:30 PM

Well I feel like I can justify MD because I've been stash knitting since August. Go us!

I'm using all my willpower to stop myself from guessing your Big News!

Posted by: jenifleur at January 11, 2006 01:17 PM

Big news!!!! Tell. Us. Now. Or the gnome gets it.

That Gnomie Gnome ROCKS.

Hear Hear!!! On stash knitting. I too intend to knit my stash into submission. I took inventory. I have yarn for 39 projects. This does not include sock yarn. Wowzie. We can do it!!!!

Posted by: Jenny at January 12, 2006 02:01 PM

Posted by: dianne at January 14, 2006 05:48 PM
