It was my birthday on Sunday...

Man, I love me some buttercreme...on a high class paper plate!!
I was treated to kitchen gadgets (a heated ice cream scoop and oven mitt) from Williams & Sonoma from my Pixie..along with a card so sweet I cried...

On the inside it says...
"You couldn't be more loving, Mom
and you couldn't be more loved"
*sniffle*
My one birthday wish from my feet was granted...

oooo!!
No birthday is complete without being surrounded by your friends. Ei, Lauren and I are all November babies...so we went to Cafe de Paris and ate brunch...Mimosas!
(Donna was out of town...and we missed her so much - see her empty chair?)

It was the best day I've had in a long time.
Knitting? Oh hell yes, I've been knitting!
A Panta (finnish headband)

Yarn: Manos #113 (wildflowers)
Needle: US5
Kalamata!
Collar finished! Sleeve Finished! Seaming of the sides...Finished!
I still have to seam the sleeves and drop this bad ass knitting off to the *tailor!
while finishing the collar (all *bleeping* 7 1/4 inches of it) I looked down and saw this little fleur...

awww! Isn't that neat?
Soooooo....I've been waiting for what seems forever!
My zipper finally arrived. I'm so happy with it. FYI...This is my first cardi with a zipper. Yes, I'm going to have it sewn in for me. One of the many wonderful treasures in my knitting life is having my pals who have travelled this road to zippers before...*I'm taking it to Ei's tailor! haha!

Zippers...who knew they'd be so exciting!
AND not to be forgotten in the Pixiestikz whirlpool...the FO and WiP pile...
Veste Everest!
I've completed the back and if you look closely you can see the brown/black blob of the front - After I just knitted on it in my meeting I'd say it's now about 3 inches away from the armhole shaping...
Yay. I'll be wearing this puppy before Xmas!

Is there is no end to the knitting thrills today?
So, while this entry would be unfabulous to normal boring un-knitting people...I think you fabulous gorgeous knitting peeps and homies would agree...this is big stuff (hehehe).
Hope everyone had a fabulous Turkey Day...
x/o!
Wow, so much to comment on! First off... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Complete with card that makes you cry, a cupcake and a new pair of shoes. It must have been awesome.
Everest is looking awesome and I love the panta. The colors are great!
Posted by: Erin at November 29, 2005 03:45 PMHappy, Happy Birthday!!! I am so jealous of your present for your feet... I have been wanting those something fierce. I may just cave and go ahead and get them (I have NO willpower.)

Love your panta. I shall make one for moi. :D
Happy Birthday! November girls are the bestest. I can't wait to see Kalamata. You're smart to send her to a tailor for zipper installation. I've hand installed a couple of cardi zippers and, while it all turned out well, it took $*@% forever!!
Posted by: Karma at November 29, 2005 11:17 PMIt was so great to be able to be with you on your special day - I hope you had as much fun as I did!
I love the Panta. One of those is definitely in my future. Those colors look so pretty!
Can't wait to see Kalamata. I will embark on my first zippered cardi next month when I start on K's sweater.
Talk to you soon!
