Well, I had to use the frost scraper this morning...looks like winter is finally here.
I say BRING IT!
Rogue made her debut today! YAY!!
Ah, the satisfaction of being cozy in your own handknit.

We had a small sadness in our house this week...
Our beta fish, Polpot passed away.

He was 2 1/2 years old, which made him a very elderly fish.
We gave him an honorable burial at sea. *flush*
Rest in Peace, Polee.
Please welcome our newest family member...
*Mao Tse-tung
He's very active and vibrant!
*(We always name our fish after Dictators)
KNITTING K-NEWS
----------------------
Ripped out 10 inches of my Kalamata sleeve...
Due to that wretched spit splicing -- gone horribly awry
I'll not be doing that again.
A Huge gaping hole in my ribbing isn't acceptable.
I'll be attempting to get back to where I was...today
I ordered my zipper from Zippersource.com
Two way of course...
---NEW PROJECT ALERT---
I also cast on/swatched/began this!

I've gotten 1 inch done! woo!
Fall 2005 IK Veste Everest
I'm using Green Mountain Spinnery Alpaca Elegance -
Color:Charcoal/Espresso?
Size 6 needle
Pics to come...with more progress
Oh my goodness, Pixie's hat in kid classic is so cute. I love that yarn, I seriously have three sweaters made out of it and a hat just like Pixie's! And you're right, it's definitely time to bring on the winter weather. I've been dying to wear my sweaters!
Posted by: Erin at November 17, 2005 12:41 PMHot mama! Love the Rogue--you look great in it too ;) Such a great knit!
Aw shucks, I *heart* Pixie! Give her a hug for me!
RIP Polpot... your time here was too short.
Welcome to Mao ;) hehehehe
Love,
L
great job on rogue and the purple-pixie-perfection! you will love the veste everest - quick to knit up and just perfect for layering when you don't know what the heck the weather has in store.
Posted by: jennifer at November 17, 2005 01:51 PMmagnificent Rogue!! I love that color - it looks gorgeous on you!!I share that affection for kid classic - yummyyummy yarn! What a cute Pixie with that hat - I can almost feel the kidclassicness through the screen! And can't wait to see that vest finished!
Posted by: karen at November 17, 2005 02:49 PMOh, I have to knit myself another Rogue. Yours is so nice and long, but mine is quite short, and I think the long length is nicer. And I love the color!
Posted by: Susan at November 17, 2005 03:19 PMRogue looks great! And I was eyeing that IK vest, too. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
Posted by: allison at November 17, 2005 03:47 PMWoo hoo, Rogue looks fabulous! The shape is really flattering on you. For some reason I imagined it to be a boxier style. Obviously, I need to make one myself to test out this theory (wink).
Nice choice with the Veste Everest, too. Did you see Carolyn's finished one today? V. cute.
I'm a bit perplexed by your problems with spit splicing. Do you think it's just the yarn you're using that didn't work out? I'm just asking because I *LOVE* it when I'm knitting with a fiber that's spit-splicable. Fewer ends to weave in = happy me. In fact, I've been eyeing that Dolly/Olive pattern... I think it would fit just right into my closet! :)
Posted by: Karma at November 17, 2005 03:52 PMRogue looks fab on you!
I'm so excited to see you doing veste everest, I've been really wanting to make that project! Can't wait to see progress pics!
Posted by: keri at November 17, 2005 04:12 PMOh it looks great on you!
So sorry to hear bout the fishy. I still can't believe ours is alive since I don't think anyone feeds it. We are bad fish owners.....

Posted by: Jenny at November 21, 2005 03:56 AMSorry I'm so late in commenting. I left for the woods on Thursday & we just returned yesterday. I'm just catching up now that everything is unpacked & the laundry has been started.
Sorry to hear about your fish. Glad to hear Pixie was okay with getting another one. We recently pondered that dilema in our house.
Again I say, I love Rogue! Awesome fit for you and equally awesome color.
AND, my favorite little pixie all decked out in my favorite color! What more could an auntie ask for?!?!? So cute... makes me wish she was here for some big ole hugs!
