Heaven=Kid Classic

This weekend was very low key.
Friday was a federal holiday...
I don't think I need to wax poetic about how I love me a federal holiday.
Ya'll understand.
Being low on vacation time, I scheduled myself a Root Canal to ring in my day off.

First...I have the HOTTEST dentist.
He reminds me of Matthew McConahwhatever.
So, going to the dentist usually is pleasant...
This time? Not so much.

Okay...so I knit while I was on major meds...heehee.
Finished the blue toeup sock.

Saturday, we went to the Annapolis LYS (Yarn Garden) - and got some lovely skeins of Rowan KID CLASSIC.
I've been lusting after this yarn for years.
It did not disappoint. It's so soft and lovely.
As soon as I saw it, I decided Pixie needed a new hat to match her *new* purple coat and purple plaid gloves (say that 10 times fast!!)...

I love this pattern...I've knit it 5 times!! Silk Garden Beanie, not just for Silk Garden!

I have two more skeins in green for MEEEEEEE...stay tuned!!
I'm thinking an irish hiking scarf!
Any other suggestions?
300 yards of heaven awaits!!
Drop me some ideas!!!!

Kalamata Olive is progressing - I'm on the last sleeve.
I have to do the collar and then FINITO!
last sleeve on sleeve island
I'll be ordering my zipper (zipperstop) and the seaming party will commence!
I can't wait.

I picked up the November issue of Simply Knitting.
Ya'll know I love this magazine...
This issue had some good ornament patterns...and....
The Ultimate!!
A tres chic bulky Turtleneck sweater pattern knit from Rowan Biggy Print that I am totally ga-ga for.
I'm just trying to think how I can fit 13 skeins of Biggy Print into my budget. *sigh*

I love that feeling you get as you are wrapping up one knit and you begin to lust after new projects...the anticipation of a new project.

MUST.RESIST.THE BIGGY.PRINT!!!!

*heart heart* I love Pixie. Those pics of her are so adorable!!! She is a beautiful and sweet girl, and so are you! Glad the weekend was low-key--everyone needs that. I have to say I am pretty darn jealous that you got over to the shop in Annapolis. I still have not been there. And Kid Classic? almost every Rowan pattern I see calls for that--I need to get some once I clear out some of the ol' stash. I quite like that lavendar color of her hat. Fast knits are always fun.

Hope the root-canal business isn't hurting too much! Can't wait to see Kalamata ;)

Love,
L

Your little Pixie is adorable. Hope you are feeling better--root canals are NO FUN. Hang in there.

I really wish my dentist was hot. It might entice me to actually schedule regular cleanings.

Cute hat, and cute Pixie.

I love me a silk garden beanie, I've knit a few with another on deck.

Ahhh... Pixie, what a fab buddy to have hanging around all weekend.

I gave into not Biggy print but Chunky print. Ouch! But is it very lovely. I had to buy 7 skiens and it was expensive. 13 skiens! yikes!

Pixie looks adorable in her new hat! I think an Irish Hiking scarf is a fantastic idea!

Hope you're root canal is feeling okay. Bumer about the procedure, but yay for hunky dentists & for the extra knitting time!

We want photos of the toe up sock! The hat is cute... it's a great color for Pixie. Really brings out her eyes!

I'm knitting Deborah from Rowan and it uses 2 skeins of Kid Classic. I agree with you, I love this yarn and want to make a whole sweater out of it when I win the lottery. The Deborah sweater is maybe fugly, I haven't decided yet, but it's so weird that I wanted to try it. At least I got to try out the Kid Classic. Jane

Sorry about the root canal. Cute dentists make those things worse somehow, I end up feeling all self conscious.

All the knitting looks great. I love the hat, and she models it so well!

Pixie is adorable in those pics. Looks a lot like the Olsen twins back before they grew taller while losing weight (?!?!).

Never had the pleasure of a cute dentist. Had a cute GYN, though, which is actually really disturbing.

Your Pixie is so cute. You were asking how many Xmas presents. We do 3 per kid. This is for a couple of reasons. Now that they are older, (14.12.11)the gifts are just more expensive. Plus, they get a ton of stuff from relatives too. We also do stockings, with little things like iTunes gift cards, reading flashlights, Christmas candy, notepads, pens, etc. It's just so hard for the moms in the families, huh...so much work and planning!

What a beautiful Pixie! And I love the anticipation of a new project, too - I think that's why I'm dragging my feet so much over picking one right now. I know that actually knitting it will probably be a little less fun than thinking about knitting it. (but it's better to wear something to knit vs. something you've only thought about!)

Pixie is a cutie :-) and the purple hat makes her eyes glow real pretty.

Best wishes from Germany
