Platform 9 3/4

Did you know there are only 17 days until Goblet comes out?

When I heard this news, I immediately obtained Griffindor House colors for Lolly and I...

We're making the same scarf and then swapping. Aren't we cute?
We're using Blue Blog Alison's HiP pattern

This pic makes it look purpley--- I assure you this is a very nice wine color...very authentic.

Next stop? Zipperstop!

Socktoberfest 2005 still is in the air at Chez Stikz...
We're working our Toe up sock...and have decided we prefer the standard top down variety.

Our first complaint is the short row heel.
I like the heel flap. Yes, I'm spoiled by the cushy heel flap.

I don't like the feeling I got when I was making my way down from the toe...
That "Oh Sh*t...when do I start the heel?"
(FYI: Any "Oh, Sh*t" moment in my knitting isn't welcome)

So this is what I have so far.
Nice legs... I'm Blind!

I'm going to do the other toe up as well...for asthetic reasons *sigh*
They must match.

It took me a while to get used to the short row heel, I hated it at first but am much happier with the results. However I still like me a top down sock every now and then.

I just saw the preview for Goblet of Fire last night... Can't Wait!

Yes, you are cute darling...you and that Lolly girl! Can't wait to see Kalamata. I may need to knit one for myself..that is to stay in the club ; ) Oh..I forgot about that AC Moore sale..I think today is the last day?!

You are going to be finished with my scarf by the time I start on yours... *sigh* I miss knitting! We definitely have to catch GoF together--we should go to Arundel Mills :)

Can't wait to see Kalamata!! I can't believe you are that far into it!

Thanks for being a part of Socktoberfest, H! I hope you enjoyed it. I love the blue stripey sock.

I love the HiP scarf. Its very cute. And yes, I've been having many of those crap in a can moments about the short row heel. I miss my sqwoshy heel too. I think for the next toe up pair, I'm going to incorporate it back in now that I think I know what I'm doing. I hope to see you soon...

Oh my! I can't believe the new HP is coming out so soon. Definitely doing a little dance over here! And despite your sock giving you frustration, it still looks great!

You girls are definitely the cutest...love the scarves. I haven't done a toe-up sock yet but I'm thinking I'm a heel flap fan too. I may try one someday just for arguments' sake...

I am doing the Azkaban scarf. 17 days left? Well I may not be done by then lol. Oh well, maybe I will have it done by the time the DVD comes out.

I love your new sock. Purty! I have never tried Toe up & I'm not really interested. I'm used to top down also. Can't wait to see Kalamata. I LOVE that sweater!

I can't wait until we can all get together! ;-)

Your cute...Lolly is cute... your whole gang is cute! Your sock is looking good. I think I will follow your lead and stick with top down. I don't care for oh sh*t moments either.

You and Lolly are cute - you should wear your scarves to go see GoF together!

I really like the toe up sock... sorry the heel is so disappointing - it really looks great if that's any consolation!

From here it looks like you started the heel at just the right spot, looks great! I'm with you though, I really like the cushion of the heel flap and think that I helps the socks hold up better. But at least now you know your preference from personal experience!

The colors on that scarf show up nicely on the old 'puter here. Fab job, H.

I'm DYING for GoF to come out. I say you get over here so we can watch it together. Hee!

I have a feeling I wouldn't like toe-up sock knitting. I'm so used to knitting top down. But I should at least try it sometime, ya know?

Yay! Can't wait to see Goblet!

Girl I can not wait to see Goblet!!!! I have a reminder on my calendar to PREPURCHASE tickets for opening day...I might even have to get "ahem" sick that day and take the kids :-)

The scarf is looking lovely as is your sock too!
