kalamata

I've been working on my sock...see?
Oh Sock, Thou art my faithful companion.

GoGetter Sock#2

I'm also going to show you a pic of FBS blocking...
Because here at Chez P'Stikz...we admit when we've flubbed.
Can you believe I have to repair and reblock it again?
Because it is so small, I either tugged on it too hard or I dropped a YO and it just unravelled.

I'm just plum tuckered when it comes to lace.
ARRRRRRGH!!!!
The BOTTOM IS MANGLED!!!!
I must have dropped a YO because I have to rip back a few rows.
But for now it sits on needles waiting for a repair.
Wahhh!

Now on the Wire...Better and brighter news...
I began KALAMATA!
I bought the Laines Du Nord Dolly Maxi from Elann when they first offered it.

Here is the back.
Lovely darling kalamata...mmmm!
I only have about 3 more inches and then I begin the sleeves!
(at one time of course!)

New Yarn in Review
Dolly Maxi Specs:
Manu: Laines Du Nord (Italy)
100% superwash merino wool
Recommended Needle: US8
Yardage:95

Dolly Maxi is very close to Aurora 8.
It does not have the best twist...
It gets a bit splitty.
It does have remarkable give and knits up beautiful.
Once you get the feel for how it likes to be handled...it performs beautifully.
It makes a thick, spongey, yet drapey fabric.

I have to say it is so damned refreshing to knit with size 8 needles. It goes so quickly...and I love the thought of FINALLY knitting myself a black sweater.

I wear mean green all the time...like today.
:) With my new red hair! woo!
Red and mean green out and about

Keep Rockin' the Socktoberfest and knit on knitters!

Sorry about the FBS woes--will you ever touch lace again? :)

and Kalamata is going to be a beaut! Black is so hard to photograph--but I know I will get to see it firsthand sometime soon!
