Rockin Sockin Socktober

I had the weekend to finish my favorite socks ever!
I made them too small to give away...yeah, yeah that's it.

These I am giving for Xmas...
Yarn:Opal Sock
Needle:Crystal Palace Bamboo Size 2s
Pattern:Beginners Midweight Sock from Knitting Pure and Simple

Here is the current TwinRib Sock #1 - the one I've decided is for Meeeeee...
Tailor made for Moi!

One of our many local LYS had a sale...So off I met Lauren and Donna for a little browsing at All About Yarn

The sock yarn was on sale! Swizzle Sock Yarn - We're talking over 400 yards for less than $7.00! I did get one skein of that and 2 others...just for reserves. Hee.

Didn't I just say I was done with buying yarn?
Yeah. Now I really mean it.
This picture really highlights my resolve.
Caught in the Cookie Jar
REALLY shows it.

Socktober is a serious thing, dammit.
Can you believe this pooled and at 11 bucks a skein?
Look at how Lauren caught Donna, Her daughter Abby and I in serious sock contemplation! (Foto courtesy of Lauren - Thanx!)
My Koigu pooled a bit and I was showing her...
Koigu, really dammed sloppy.
Not a fan of pooling.

So next up - I will have a blocking FBS...cause it can't just be about socks.
Until then!

Wow... do I get to be first today? Yippee!
(Little things amuse me.)

Now that I have a whole new affinity for socks, I'm really enjoying the sock pics even more!! I really like the blue ones, and I'm thinkin', hmmmm.... Marc might wear those... then I see the too small so you just have to keep them pair, and I think, I would do the same thing!! Keep them, dammit! Too much fun for your feet to give away. Mwahhahahaha.

Gah. Socks are way addictive really fast.

Love all you sockies! Opal is such a fun yarn! My dh keeps bugging me to make him socks but his gi-normous feet scare me! I'm making my girlies some kneesocks for the Socktoberfest-woot!

Cute socks! I haven't tried Swizzle. What would you compare it to? I can't wait to see your shawl!

We both have to stop buying yarn for awhile. We need to make a pact!
No pics of your new yarn? it is SO pretty. I love the kinds you got--show them off, girl!

Mmm, love the Koigu sock. I think it was a subconcious decision on your part to knit them to fit your foot EXACTLY! :)

Just found your blog... great fun!!! I just cast on a pair of socks (for socktoberfest) in lakeview by lorna's laces... decided to use your twin rib stitch. Thanks for sharing. :-)
As soon as I have something to show I'll post pictures on my blog if you'd like to see.

Nobody can resist the yarn. And THEY know that. That's why they put so much of it where we can reach out and touch it.
:)

Great socks!! And your haul from Stitches East - I am SO JEALOUS!

Both sets of socks look really great. I'm impressed by those grey ones. I never like the self-fair isling ones, but those are really nice. It must be the fact that it's all grey. They seem kitchie to me when they do fair isle in a bunch of colors, I guess.

I did some yarn buying, myself the other day. Shameful what we knitters can buy with a full closet of yarn at home...

Great socks! I wish my LYS would have a sale...maybe if I think about it really hard they will.

Your Opal socks are fantastic!! Whoever gets them for Christmas is lucky indeed. And your Koigu sock is just beautiful. I'd definitely have made them too small to give away, too. Good plan! ;-) BTW, your daughter is just precious. She looks like such a sweet girl.
