A Yarn from Stitches East...

A Veritable Feast for the Fiber Aficionado...
Stitches East 2005 Yarn Haul...

Free Yarn...
Free is for me!
Seriously. This yarn was free. Perhaps it was due to the vibrant color.
My Boyo LOVES yellow...and had requested a new snowboarding beanie.
All that yardage for the low, low price of $0.00!

Half Pi Shawl pattern from Rosie's Yarn Cellar
2 skeins of Zephyr laceweight in Basil
Good enough to eat!

This is from Hunt Valley Cashmere...
Sooo Fabulous, I can't describe how fabulous it is...
All for meeeeee!
It's a simple almost basketweave scarf pattern...very simple but elegant!

I took a break from shopping long enough to stalkarazzi one of my favorite authors and bloggers... Ms. Pearl-McPhee
Very cool lady...hella funny too!

I kept passing the Green Mountain Spinnery booth...
I became velcro...their lush yarn and cute patterns just stuck to me...
glovettes...I love these things
IK Fall 05 - Veste EverestGreen Mountain Spinnery...
I actually modeled their version...and bought the yarn for it...
I just love that look with the crisp white shirt underneath...
With Doc Martens of course!

This would be so awesome to wrap up in...
Mountain Colors Bearfoot...Perhaps a mini-clapotee?
Wild Raspberry
MY FAVORITE!
I don't know if I will be able to knit this up...I'm really just content to rub it on my cheek and exclaim over the colors. I do so love it!

Tess...
I must say a few words about Tess Designer Yarns.
I emailed them about a week before I went to Stitches.

I explained that I'd bought some Ribbon yarn at MD S&W and I had buyers remorse.

They emailed me back (like in 5 minutes) and assured me I could bring it back to Stitches for an exchange.
Look what I got instead of the ribbon yarn...
Tess is my preferred sock yarn of all time!
More sock patterns...
you can never have too many sock patterns...back me up here!

All of these festivals have the neatest needles, gadgets and gizmos to make your knitting life a bit easier.
Gadgets and Gizmos

Just what you need when your dogs are tired from all the yarn shopping!
Smoothies!
Share a smoothie with your fellow knitter and rummage through your treasures!!

I hope you enjoyed viewing the loot...
I'm pretty much good to go until Sheep & Wool next year.
Or so I'm told!

I've finished my opal socks, and begun a new pair...
XMAS sockies
Koigu with a Twin rib with US1s.
Oh, it's so very.
I'm accepting the diagnosis... I'm addicted to sock knitting.

Ha! I'm also on row 3 of the FBS edging...Victory is upon us!

Hi! Love that vest, that will be so cute on! Not sure if you remember me...I haven't commented since you finished your lovely Rogue...I call my daughter Pixie too. Remember? That's okay if you don't. :-) Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I am finally making my own Rogue. I am soooo excited, can't wait to start it. Have two projects to finish first though. Must start soon! Am using the same yarn: jo sharp silkroad aran tweed, although it is under a different label: Kathmandu something or other. Love it!

Wow what a great yarn haul! Mmmm, Mountain Color and Cashmere. You've got plenty to keep you busy for a while, chickie.

Sorry we never connected this weekend. I guess it wasn't meant to be :( No Fiber Fest and no Heaz fix - bummer...

Tell me your bringing that sock book... you know how addicted I am! :) I love all of the yarns and patterns you got--that yellow yarn is pretty--so cool you got it for free too!

That Tess yarn deal is amazing. So glad they let you trade and get all of those beautiful colors instead of that ribbon. That stuff looks luscious :)

See you soon, H.

I had forgotten how much I loved that vest. Hmmm, I've got some stash yarn for that one I'm sure!

Posted by: Kate at October 3, 2005 01:01 PM

I'm drooling right now. What an awesome haul! I love that vest that you are going to do.

Posted by: Moni at October 3, 2005 01:12 PM

So how'd you get free yarn? Lucky girl! I love those flower needles, so happy. Yeah, that should keep you busy for a while.

Posted by: Vicki at October 3, 2005 01:14 PM

Nice haul lady! Love everything you bought - and it appears it was well worth the trip for stash enhancement and fun.

Posted by: Lisa at October 3, 2005 01:26 PM

Posted by: jennifer at October 3, 2005 02:52 PM

How the heck did you get that for free? I've touched Catalina and loved it.

Posted by: Lauren at October 3, 2005 03:15 PM

Yummy yummy stash. Especially the raspberry. And the meeting of the Harlot. What could be better?
:)

Posted by: Micky at October 3, 2005 03:23 PM

you'll love bearfoot, they are my absolute favorite sock yarn of the moment!

Posted by: blossom at October 3, 2005 03:29 PM

Wowee, what a haul! Those festivals always seem to have the best little companies. I'm definitely going to have to go to Chicago's next year. No doubt.

Posted by: Sarah at October 3, 2005 04:04 PM

Free yarns? The yarns are already yummily lovely even if you have to pay for them ... free? Sweet!
I am waiting for that sock book in the mail too ... seems to be a good one ... getting impatiently now! LOL!

Posted by: Agnes at October 3, 2005 04:06 PM

That is quite the haul! I'm so excited for you, & am definitely aware of my own stagnation in the knitting. You & your completed socks (was there a pic? I didn't see one... ahem) have inspired me to devote at least an hour to knitting tonight!

Wish I'd gone to stitches with you. It would've been so much fun!

L-o-v-e-U!

Wow, you got such a haul there. I have to agree that the sock possibilites are most tempting. I'd love to try some of that bearfoot someday. Can't wait to see what you make first.

Posted by: Jenna at October 3, 2005 06:31 PM

My LYS recently started carrying Mountain Colors, and I got the same color! It's so beautiful, and it just makes me want to eat some wild raspberries.

Posted by: Beth at October 3, 2005 11:09 PM

Such wonderful goodies! And, the free yarn. Very cool. I've seen much worse/weirder colors than that and they actually wanted money for it. It's perfect if it's a color you like anyway.

And, I've been lusting after that cabled vest, myself. I may even have the yarn in my stash for it. Yippee!

Posted by: Krista at October 4, 2005 03:24 AM

great haul! you've done exceptionally well. i've actually been eyeing off that vest myself.

Posted by: jacqueline at October 4, 2005 03:52 AM

You totally scored girlie! Looks like a fun time...stalkarazzi...ha!

Posted by: Anne Marie at October 4, 2005 10:55 AM

Damn! You picked up some great stuff! I really like Green Mountain Spinnery too. I made a cabled hat once with their Mountain Mohair and it was awesome! Enjoy your new stash!

Posted by: Karen at October 4, 2005 12:28 PM

Look at all your wonderful goodies! Don't you just love Mountain Colors? I swear their sock yarn is to die for! I love it!

Posted by: Erin at October 4, 2005 02:47 PM

That picture of Pixie on the sidebar is one I took! :) hehe

Great to see you last night, H!

Posted by: Lolly at October 4, 2005 03:36 PM

Free Yarn??? Score!! And that Mountain Colors Bearfoot... bee-yoo-tee-ful. Can't wait to see that knitted up - I really do love those colors.

Posted by: Kathy at October 4, 2005 04:53 PM

What a GREAT haul! Look at all of the pretty yarn. Don't you just love the mountain colors?! Gotta love it!

I found your blog through Jen. You are so much fun! I'll be back...

Oh! I have that same pattern from Rosie's! I bought it at the shop when I visited Philly back in May. We should do a knitalong! :D
