Not much to report. I feel bad blogging when I have no real FOs.
I'm done with my distraction of the OSW. I've finished both of them.
I love me a quick knit!
I've mailed them off...to the lovely girls in Cedar Hill, Missouri!
Just in time for back to school.

That is really it.
I'm still plugging away at Pixie's Birthday sweater.
I'm almost done with the front.
FBS?
Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel.
Stay by your bat-phones. I'll keep you posted.
BUT!
Stitches East is next week. NEXT. WEEK.
I'll be making the trip with Ei and Donna...we'll be at Caesars.
We'll be up there in Atlantic City for almost 4 days. This go-around we're not taking classes. Ei and I took a class or two last year...and one of them was a HUGE advertisement for the Instructor's new book.
High on plugs, low on content.
It went a bit like this...
"Hi, my name is Jane, Jane Doe and this is my book, Overrated Knits."
Then periodically, it was
"Did I mention that this technique/design/principle is in my new book Overrated Knits?"
Finally after the 45th plug... we learned that this particular designer does not knit.
AT ALL.
Hm. Okayyyyy.
Lovely. Very Good.
But run right out and buy her new book Overrated Knits!
Did she mention her name was Jane, Jane Doe, Author of Overrated Knits?
So there you go. No classes this year for me.
:)
When Ei and I see this book on occasion...we always leap to do our impressions!
I'll be sure to take pictures of all the *ahem* loverly knits I see in the market on the backs of my fellow crafters.
Ha!
Yeah!
So I'm nearing my 1000th commenter.
If you are my 1000 commenter...you will receive a sweet gift from yours truly.

UPDATED:
LISA is my 1000th commenter! I'll be emailing her the sweet giftie out ASAP! WOOHOO!
The OSWs look really great, H. You sure churn those babies out!
You and the other girls are going to have a fun time at Stitches. I can't wait to see what you come back with.
Hope to talk to you soon ;)
xo
How did you find out she doesn't knit at all? What a bad plan of hers. I bet if she'd just been a good teacher, people would've been more likely to buy the book. Say hi to the cashmere clap I knit at Axelle's booth.
Posted by: Lauren at September 15, 2005 11:57 AMooooo I am going crazy trying to fingure out what book you are talking about.... can you give a more distinguished clue ?
Posted by: strawberryfever at September 15, 2005 12:04 PMLovely OSWs. I am sure they will be loved.
Yes could we get another hint about the book? Wouldn't want to buy it.
I used to love hearing that at the end of every Batman episode. Ah the good old days, of re-runs. lol
Hope you have a great time.
:)
The OSW's look great! I just cast on for another one too. Perfect gift knitting. Stitches will be fun, have a great time!
Posted by: caro at September 15, 2005 12:26 PMLove the OSWs!
Funny how my classes were nothing like your experience. I'm glad. I would have asked for my money back!
There was no pun intended when you said you "leap" into an impression, right? :-)
I'd like a hint too about the book! I am green with envy at your Sts trip. I've only missed two in all the years but this year it's not possible. I'll make up for it at Maryland S&W in the spring.
Posted by: Joan at September 15, 2005 12:44 PMThose OSWs are too cute! Lucky girls who get them!
Have fun at Stitches!!
Posted by: Sarah at September 15, 2005 12:49 PMI love the OSWs too! What a great quick knit. And your trip sounds like a blast! I wish I could be there hanging out with you lovely ladies...maybe next year!
Have fun!
Posted by: Carrie at September 15, 2005 01:00 PMI hope I run into you at Stitches. I'll be there Sat. / Sun. with a cohort. We're staying at Bally's I believe. Though I'm so jet lagged I don't know anything anymore.
Posted by: Anmiryam at September 15, 2005 01:40 PMLucky girl you - Stitches East. I wish I could go. But alas, I did attend Maryland. One trip to the USA for yarn a year should be enough, shouldn't it?
The OSWs look great. Hope the people you knit them for love them.
Posted by: Lisa at September 15, 2005 01:41 PMNow you have everyone curious as to the identity of "Jane Doe"...hee! Those OSW are too cute! You make me want to knit one for my girls (ok, and for me too!). Have a wonderful time at Stitches!
Posted by: sUsAn at September 15, 2005 01:53 PMPlease, oh please take as many back pictures as you can. And post them all. Heck, make a gallery. Hee hee!
P.S. Those little shrugs are sooooooo cute. You churned those out FAST. Damn, girl. Super Jamie Bionic Knitter!
Posted by: Becky at September 15, 2005 01:59 PMHave fun at Stitches... hopefully there will be better booths at the Market than at Stitches Midwest - I wasn't a huge fan.
Congrats on the 1000th comment!
Posted by: SAHM at September 15, 2005 01:59 PMThe Jo-Ann yarns really look nice! The colours are beautiful. But it's a pity that there are only pestal colours.
Posted by: Agnes at September 15, 2005 08:24 PMAwww, the OSW are so cute. I'd bet that little people look cute in them. I wouldn't dare make one for my chubby arms though :)
And I LOVE your impression of Jane Doe. I wish that everyone could experience it. Thanks for the belly laugh. I wish I could go with you gals :( Sounds like so much fun.

Posted by: Tanya at September 15, 2005 10:45 PMI have personally experienced "Jane Doe", only it was 2 years ago...funny though...it was the same experience...lots of promo, no learn-o! I will never purchase any of her books. That aside I can't wait wait wait for Stitches. We're gonna have a blast girl :) xo Donna
Posted by: Donna at September 16, 2005 12:44 PMThe OSWs don't count as FOs??? Come on... they're so adorable... can't they get a little status for their cuteness?
Have a great, great time at Stitches - I can't wait to see the backs of all the mystery people!
Posted by: Kathy at September 16, 2005 02:12 PMDude - OSWs are TOTALLY FOs. Because you see, if they aren't, then my teeny baby sweaters don't count, and the little baby booties don't count, and well then, most of the stuff I finish wouldn't count, so ahem, the OSWs? They *totally* count.
Have a great time at Stitches. I can't wait to see all the erm, lovely, knits you find. :)

Posted by: karen at September 18, 2005 06:33 PMYou are so bad not telling us who it is!!!! Email me and telllllll!
Posted by: LeAnne at September 19, 2005 02:30 AMI was mildly curious after I read your post, but now that I've scrolled through the comments, I am *extremely* curious about the identity of Jane Doe. Have fun at Stitches, make sure you capture lots of knitting with your camera, and don't worry about posting if there's no FO because it's just fun to hear from you.
Posted by: Susan at September 19, 2005 08:23 AMHey heather
Go to irisheyes and see how your green yarn was used. Thanks for including it in the trade.
Posted by: kathy b at September 19, 2005 11:19 AMOh, darn. And here I was hoping I'd be the 1,000th commenter. Not for the prize, but because that would be so cooooool!
