UPDATED TO INCLUDE PICS!!
Very Good. Right.
I've been bitten by the mini project bug.
I think it's because I've been tied to the same two projects for what seems an eternity.
My will to knit has been sapped.
What better way to infuse a knitter in fugue?
Start a quicky project (or two).
Thanks! I believe I will (did).
I completed a seed stitch bag

(here is the pattern pic)

(here is the Pixiestikz Version - a bit longer)
with 2 skeins of Colinette Point 5...lovely stuff, that. (From Donna's stash, Thx!!)

I do have to say...Colinette gives no quarter when it comes to really matching their dyelots...because...damn.
They missed the boat with this colorway. You See?
I'm knee deep in another OSW.
I found this

It's the pink. It is like knitting with fluffy cotton candy...only not sticky.
(yeah, no duh H!)

I'm going to exchange in a skein of the pink for a purple Blue.
You see, I must make 2. As these are pressies for a set of sisters.
My lovely darlings, Abbi and Livi.
I believe it WILL take one skein. We shall see.
Look at what I have left...Me thinks my conviction may waiver.
oh how could I forget?!
I am on repeat 4 row 8 on my FBS.
I love this yarn, I just don't love knitting it when there is a MM/Poirot marathon on A&E.
This being said, I need absolutely no distractions.
So it's no surprise...
After royally screwing myself over there at Repeat 4 Row 7, I turned off my fave show, Midsomer Murders. urgh!
I came to my wits, put down the FBS and finished out the episode with the lovely unmatching Colinette bag.
Ahhh. easy knits with good mystery telly. My fave way to spend a 3 day weekend.
Ah, yes. The excitement here never ends.
(P.S. I got my Laines Du Nord yarn...in Black. Because Black is So Very. I also got a new mattress this weekend...I wasn't leaving there without a 1/2 sheep with Braces!!)

Dash it all! I love Poirot...how the heck did I miss that!
Posted by: Sarah at September 6, 2005 12:12 PMLOL! For me it was cheesy chick-flicks and Birch for my sister. I was lucky though - since chick flicks require little to no mental processing, I just kept whipping along in the pattern. :)
I love that JoAnn Yarn - it's really pretty! Can't wait to see the OSWs - they'll be so cute! And post that seed stitch bag - love the pattern (I love bags. I never make them and always want to. SO Cute!)
love that cute bag. Where oh where did you get the pattern?? I have two skiens of Point 5 in my stash that I have no idea what to do with.
Posted by: Kate at September 6, 2005 01:37 PMThe Jo-Ann yarn you mentioned is interesting. I surfed their site and found some other good stuff too. Did you buy the yarn in shop or online? I may have to pay a visit to the store!
Posted by: Agnes at September 6, 2005 02:32 PMOooh, I'm loving the colinette bag! I need some quick knits myself. It's a nice way to get the knitting steam back.
Posted by: Moni at September 6, 2005 04:03 PMThat bag is too cute--sorry about the Colinette not matching, though. I am sure it doesn't look that bad!
I have been tempted many times by those new Joann yarns--they are producing some nice stuff... at least it feels nice. Not sure about the pill factor though!
Hope you are doing well~talk to you soon, girl! ;) How is your class going??
Love,
L
So many fun things! The little purse is very cute, despite the mismatched "matching" dyelots. Way to go Colinette.
Posted by: Purly Whites at September 7, 2005 12:48 PMlittle purse is really cute! and the cute sheep!
Posted by: blossom at September 7, 2005 12:54 PMThe bag does look adorable! So sorry about the screwy dye lots! I don't know why they even have dyelots if they arent the same?!!?!? So, do you love love the Laines du Nord?? I think I need some:) xo Donna
Posted by: Donna at September 7, 2005 02:03 PMI'm on the hunt for a new mattress too - and found a store that gives that same sheep to those who buy a mattress set from them! I hope the bed is good because I would love one of those sheeps too.
BTW - the sheep looks like he loves the yarn a bit too much!
Posted by: Lisa at September 7, 2005 02:18 PMI know what you mean - going from JK to Grade 1 is such a huge step, and my girl is handling it really well. If anything I think she loves it more than she did when she was in SK.
One can only hope she will continue to love school year after year.
Hopefully I'll post a pic of the three OSWs. I like them, but they are kind of hot.
Posted by: Lisa at September 7, 2005 03:39 PMWhat a cute bag! I love small and quick projects... they keep you sane enough to get through the bigger ones.
Posted by: Karen at September 7, 2005 05:32 PMThat bag looks great.
And the sheep does look like it is having too much fun with that yarn. Maybe he thinks it's a black sheep?
:)
That joann yarn looks awesome!
Love the bag, especially the effect the different skeins create...very funky.
I'm not sure which I love more, the bag or the sheep. They both have such unique features that add to their charm.
congrats on the new mattress! My new one that I got a few months ago changed my life and my back condition!
Posted by: Jenna at September 7, 2005 10:25 PMThat sheep is too damn funny. The boys want me to get several of them. And braces too. I'm still chuckling. Lovin' all of the minis.

Posted by: Tanya at September 8, 2005 10:09 AMI like the bag, and I LOVE the sheep!
Posted by: Jenn at September 8, 2005 12:24 PMA sheep with braces!! Now you're talking...he is so CUTE! Wow - that dyelot is really off but remarkably it doesn't ruin the look of the bag at all. I'm liking it quite a lot actually.
Posted by: Vicki at September 8, 2005 01:21 PMYay! A sheep with braces! Like me, but infinitely cuter! ;)
The Colinette bag is great, but boy howdy, those dyelots really are, um, different.
I can't wait to see your next OSW!
Have a great weekend!
Posted by: elisa at September 9, 2005 09:11 AMOMG! My folks got a new mattress and gave me their Serta sheep!
Here's some High Energy to get you out of your funk. Are you ready? ZAP! POW! Look out!
Posted by: Jenny at September 9, 2005 11:20 AMI love the 1/2 sheep. That's hysterical!!! And you're right about the Colinette. What were they thinking with those dye lots?!?!
Posted by: Erin at September 9, 2005 02:20 PMThat bag is SO cute, and I'm laughing so hard at that sheep with braces I'm about to crack a rib. You're a RIOT!
