I've been wanting to work with Felted Tweed, since I started knitting.
I'd thought I would use it for Rogue...but used Jo Sharp instead.
Imagine my delight yesterday when I got my latest and greatest project in the mail....

MY *new* FAVORITE YARN!!!!!!
Pardon me as I wax poetic...
Oh, how I've dreamed of thee,
My dearest Felted Tweed.
Here you are in all your Ravenclaw-y Glory,
ready to be knit like Mrs. Weasley did in first HP Story.
mmm. oh yes...Another Weasley!
Plus, Lauren and I are doing a HP Scarf Swap.
A Ravenclaw for A Griffindor!
I was thinking of finding a patch and sewing it on there as a little extra somethin-somethin' for my bud Lauren.
Pixie is so cute...I made her tell Lauren and Kris all the HP spells she knows...
It's so funny when she waves her wandhand and says
"arresto momentum" or "expecto patronum" or "oculus reparo"
Can you tell we're some crazy Harry Potter lovin' Cowgirls?
ah, ha! I forgot to say I'd also ordered some labels...for all these gorgeous things I've been cranking out this year and last...

Do you like them? Able Labels baby!
Here are a couple things I did this weekend...
Got Dressed up...(for me that is dressed up!)

Played Video Games after a few drinks...with this Boyo...

Found Fleece in the Lord & Taylor

Came home with this...Michael Kors - 70% off the sale price @ Bloomies
Which has become my new favorite bag...

It fulfilled my one must-have requirement for a handbag...
A cell phone pocket!
So very stylish...and CHEAP!

Ah. I've begun knitting the front of Pixie's Birthday Sweater...and brought FBS to work with me...
I ripped FBS last week...because I made a mistake (at knit nite) and couldn't figure out how to fix! Doh. But I've re-done my provisional and am ready to begin anew. Chart one, Row One.
So, now I've only got two wips.
In the interest of self discipline...there will be A Chez P'Stikz Edict!
*There will be NO Casting On for the HP sweater until I've finished at least one of these babies.
*There will also be much selling of the stash on Ebay.
Is it Lunchtime? I've been CRAVING those Taco Bell Fresco Tacos...anyone else addicted? mmmmm!

Posted by: Lauren at August 23, 2005 11:41 AMYou always look cute no matter what you're wearing :) Felted tweed, huh? I may need to find so to test (not likely since no one around here carries Rowan). Thanks for the heads up on those great labels. I like them better than some of the others I've seen out there.

Posted by: Tanya at August 23, 2005 11:53 AMYes my dear...you look adorable!! Love your new purse! I love, love your new labels!
Glad you had a great weekend!
You look great all dressed up (that is how I dress up too, jeans and a nice shirt)
The weekend sounded great. Good luck with FBS, once you get going you'll be addicted.
Love your new bag! I also insist on having a cell phone pocket. I've even thought about ordering a Purseket www.purseket.com for a bag that didn't have good pockets!! Can't wait to see the HP sweater get started (I know, I'm a bad influence!!!)...
Posted by: Danielle at August 23, 2005 02:09 PMWow - i love those labels - gottagotta have some!! And felted tweed ... I'm all with you - it's magic. Somehow. Just magic. Superduper purse!! :)
Posted by: karen at August 23, 2005 02:40 PMThose labels are very nice. I have lots of Harry Potter patterns just waiting on me. But right now the only thing on my mind is Rogue, so other things have to wait. Of course I really am in love with all those mini-weasley's running around! And those book scarves as well.
:)
Check you out, hot stuff! I looooove those lables. I may have to get me some for Christmas presents and whatnot.
Posted by: Sarah at August 23, 2005 05:24 PMFresco Tacos? I'm the biggest Taco Bell fan ever and I've never heard of 'em. Guess that means it's been too long. Those labels are soooo cool :)

Posted by: frecklegirl at August 24, 2005 10:44 AMLove the felted tweed...I just got some for Salina - haven't cast on yet but I've been doing lots of squishing. Feels like it will knit up pretty soft and the colors are so great.
Posted by: Vicki at August 24, 2005 03:49 PMOMG...talking about the same wavelength. My handbag looks A LOT like yours, only it's got side and front pockets. Hehe. I think we could exchange closets and no one would know the difference.
P.S. Last time I was visiting the 'rents in the States, my brother and I went to Gatti's Pizza and had a blast playing all the video games there. Clearly, we know how to have fun.
P.P.S. Welcome to the Land of Felted Tweed. You will LOVE how this knits up. Wear noseplugs when you steam-block it, though. Hehe.
