First, thank you for all the lovely comments on my Kiri.
That affirmation from you all really was awesome.
I'm so proud of how far I've come knitting wise and without this community...I'd not be so inspired.
Went to Borders on Wednesday.
We looked at the new knitting mags...after our my 3 drink dinner out with "Le Posse". Wooo!
Hey! A girl needs to unwind occasionally.

Holy Crap in a Can!
Knit'n'Style finally hit the nail on the head. I personally think this issue should have had this for it's cover sweater...most apt.
It accurately represents the gist of almost every knit they showcase.

My sentiments EXACTLY! (not High Fashion)

Confession time at Chez P'Stikz...
I love the song by Pointer Sisters "Automatic"
I played it 4 times into work this am. Sick!
I found out that *some people* prefer Baby Gap to Rowan Designs.
Hm. Who woulda thunk it. No need to rush anymore!
(no, I'm not offended...)
I am a fickle knitter (see below).
I desperately need to destash.
I've been cutting off my head in the FO pics because of my desperate need of a trim and a highlight.
2" Roots are not High Fashion.
---
Which brings me to my haircut.
I know this is a knitting blog...but I really think my darling Mina outdid herself.
A dashing young man in Sephora told me that my hair "is HIGH FASHION...!"
Please alert John Galliano that I am ready for my runway debut!
ha! Those who know me best know I am a dorky quirky bird.
Kickin it like Punky Brewster...

High Fashion! Le Colour! C'est Magnifique!

---
Okay, now onto the knitting portion of this blog. Ah, finally!
Pixie's B-day Sweater
Oh! How I love thee, Phildar.
Phildar = High Fashion, Non?

Close up - pinky purple goodness

Progress!

This yarn is Phildar Plaisance...In Camelia...on US 3s.
(Pl-ay-sense --- my midwest pronounciation)
because according to my Pixie...Purple is so very.
She will be very surprised...and I know she will love it.

Destashing? Did someone say Destashing?
I was inspired by Becky to clean house!
My next post will be about destashing...with pics!
I want to consolidate my stash. I'm overrun with yarn.
Sometimes, less is more.
I'm talking the good crack yarn here, people!
koigu, lornas laces, reynolds, rowan, phildar...etc.
For sale or trade!
Stay Tuned.
hehe--great entry, H! You had me rolling with your "high fashion" bit. Gosh, could that picture be any crazier? We are all making crazy faces! and could that sweater/vest thing be any more hideous? ahh
HOT hair! love the highlights and the new cut! You are so hot.
Love Pixie's pullover. That yarn is awesome.
Glad we are on the same page on the whole yarn diet/destashing thing. We are the philosophical knitters.. hehe...
See you Sunday--can't wait! :) DDR and KNITTING!
Love the new hair. I'm desperate for a cut and color myself but have been waiting until the end of summer so the sun doesn't bleach out my money's worth of color.
Cant wait to see Pixie in the b-day sweater, I can just imagine how proud she'll be to wear it.
Posted by: Kate at August 5, 2005 12:09 PMYou have my ideal hair, mine would just be longer. It looks fantastic on you!
I had highlights much like those once upon a time (same red and blonde chunkiness) and they were Dean's favorite do of mine. Gotta get back to that. Thanks for providing a pic that I can give to my stylist!!
Posted by: melanie at August 5, 2005 12:16 PMLOVE the new hair!!
Posted by: jessica~ at August 5, 2005 01:13 PMI can not believe you're destashing all those fantastic yarns. We knitters are nothing without the hordeing! But if you feel it's absolutely necessary, I'm sure you can find a few who'd gladly taking off your hands.
Oh and what an excellent high fashion hair cut and color you have! If I had the balls I'd probably cut my hair high fashion, but I don't... no balls here.
Posted by: Erin at August 5, 2005 01:17 PMGreat Hair! Loev the colors. Yarn Diet forthcoming but I bought 4 skeins at lunch.... oops.
:)
LOVE your hot hair! And your Kiri is amazingly beautiful! Pixie & my Lydia share the same views about purple. She'll love that sweater!
Posted by: sUsAn at August 5, 2005 01:35 PMPixie is gonna put that model to shame! That spooky vest is giving me awful flashbacks of grade school teachers past.
Posted by: Lauren at August 5, 2005 03:15 PMYour hair looks amazing!!! I can't wait to see your stash sale, have a great weekend.
Posted by: Kate at August 5, 2005 03:20 PMrockstar hair m'darlin! looks fab!
Posted by: caro at August 5, 2005 04:24 PMI'm going for a hair appointment today and can't wait. I'm way overdue. Love the purple and so will sweet Pixie. What's with all of the purple you and Lolly are showin' lately? Have a super weekend!

Posted by: Tanya at August 5, 2005 05:13 PMYOur hair looks GREAT! I love it.
My husband got me a subscription to Knit N Style. I had never even picked it up at the bookstore. It is hideous. But the other night he came home with the latest Interweave (which I already had). He didn't know. But he does try!
Posted by: patti at August 5, 2005 05:44 PMLOVE the hair! It totally cool.
I'm psyched to see your stash clean up. I took small advantage of Becky's cleaning out as well. Gotta love it!
Posted by: Sarah at August 5, 2005 06:13 PM1. H...you always crack me up!! :-)))

Pixie's sweater is going to be so pretty on her. The color is perfect.
Oooo, stash--I love it--can't wait--
Love the hair. And the color is even better.
Did you say you are getting rid of some yarn?
:)
1) LOVE the hair. So fetching.
2) I will trade or buy. Let's see the stash. I'm about to do the same!!!
3) I summon doctors to get some relief
but they tell me there is noooooooo cure...
(They tell me...) ;-)
I'd said it before and now again, I love your hair.
Lovely pixie sweater. :D
saw that knit-n-style today at borders - eek! i just couldn't pick it up, for fear of the unknown inside its überglossy cover. the name says it all; it's not "in style", oh no... it's "N style"... nasty.
but you got yerself a great haircut!
Posted by: jennifer at August 6, 2005 03:05 PMLove the new hair - too cool! The purple for Pixie's sweater is perfect...lucky girl!
Posted by: Jackie at August 7, 2005 09:42 AMLove that haircut! Wish I would dare try to cut my long hair but still...
Destashing?! I think I need to refrain from reading your blog for a while. I just unpacked and found some huge *ahem* stash which I couldn't quite remember. But your list is tempting...:)
Posted by: emy at August 7, 2005 09:56 AMLove the hair. Wish I had the guts to cut all mine off. Love that pink yarn too.
Posted by: Kristin at August 7, 2005 03:20 PMYour highlights look awesome! Your style is so flattering on you.
Can't wait to see what your de-stashing!
Posted by: Karen at August 7, 2005 04:46 PMOkay, Miss H, I know that your secret desire is to knit that spooky cardi and the matching top with wee floating punkin heads for Halloween. I know you so wanna. That halloweenie intarsia is calling to you. Do not deny the high fashion in you, girl!
Posted by: Becky at August 8, 2005 04:17 AMGirl, your hair is "HOT", love the colors. I had a dream about you/your hair last night...it was shorter than now...could it be a premonition? BTW, those that covet Baby Gap over Rowan are not worthy of Rowan hand knits;) Can't wait to see the destashing!
Posted by: Donna at August 8, 2005 07:38 AMOMG me and Jacob both LOVE Automatic. It's on my mp3 player for working out...No way to control it, it's totally automatic... hee hee.
Your hair looks GREAT! high fashion, indeed. And that picture of your girls is so cute. I wish you all lived closer. *sigh*. Rhinebeck, anyone? :)
Spoooooky sweater! yikes!
Posted by: Carrie at August 8, 2005 08:58 AMYou're rocking that new do, and the yarn for pixie's b-day sweater is soooo nummy I want to eat it!
