Sister of the Smelly Skein

Mean Green Sleeve One.
Completed and Blocking.

This skein stank. I mean WOW...a knock you over stink.
bleh! Sheepy BO.
I had to get second opinions so I walked around...
"Honey, does this stink" (to Boyo)
"Gah! Why did you make me smell that? What is that?
Nevermind, get it away from me!"

hm. It may stink as bad as I think.

So, I let it soak in two eucalan baths...whew!
It's better now. The rug didn't shivel when I was pinning it.

I'll take that as a good sign.

Saturday, we went here...

We went to Old Town Alexandria, VA to spend time and lunch with my best pal...
Of course I had to stop in....
Knit Happens!!
I don't know quite how I deferred from my Yarn Diet...
But I picked up 4 skeins to do the FBS with. Lordy.

I thought I wasn't too crazy about alpaca. You know..take it or leave it.
That was until I met Misti. ohhhh...Misti! In Denim. lovelovelove.
FBS after Kiri of course.

Here is our lovely Kiri...at her halfway point.

I'm heading into the 10th pattern repeat as we speak.
---
Sunday we went into Baltimore. ArtScape.
It was hottttt. Hades 5th Ring of Hell Hotttt.
We went on Sunday after all the headliners were gone. It wasn't that crowded.
I'm not a fan of crowds. Mob mentality and all...
*shudders*
Although, I did sorta want to see Morris Day and The Time.
How sad would that have been?

Good times.

Help! Look at this! Like I need another knitting bag! arrgh.

Looks like you had a great weekend!
Kiri is looking beautiful as ever...

And so is Pixie!

And, I must know: where did you see that knitting bag? I really DO need a new one. The handle of one of mine broke! :(

Love you!

Yay for completion of one stinky sleeve! Hopeful sleeve number two will not be so stinky.

I'll be crossing my fingers for the shuttle launch tomorrow! I didn't know the commander was a woman, that rocks!

Whoa, I can smell that all the way out here! ArtScape? I should know about this!
I went to Knit Happens on Saturday also to take advantage of their sale.
And that bag, I almost bought the green one on ebay...but retracted my bid before it was too late.
Why are you reminding me of it? :D
Cute, cute pixie.

You get used to the smell o' sheep when you prep raw wool. Its not so bad :) Remind me what FBS is. I think I have short term memory loss. I LOVE Old town. Next time I'm in DC, let's go there. Did you find Pop's ice cream? Yum! Lovin' Kiri and Mean. Happy Monday!

Hello sweet H! :) I really like the alpaca yarn you picked up at KH--it looks so pretty! You are becoming a lace-addict with Kiri and FBS next!

I went to Artscape a few years ago and loved it... I have missed every year since then though...

Talk to you soon!

I JUST got a new knitting bag... but I am still coveting that bag!! Where did you find it?? I love it.

I had a bit of a flashback there (oh-wee-oh-wee-oh) with you mentioning Morris Day & the Time! I saw them with Prince when I was in college and we all wore purple and had very, very big hair. Scary moment.

Seriously, isn't Phildar just the best. Everything they make is super fabulous.

I love old town! There used to be this yummy Thai place there we'd go to all the time. Ages and ages ago...

There is so much to love in this post, I was howling with Pixie's answer. Stinky yarn!

Your Kiri is going so well! And you said you couldn't knit lace...
