I hope you don't mind me sharing some non-knitting content about my life...
This weekend was a busy one...and with all couples...there is a certain amount of compromise when activities are planned...right?
Sunday
His Thing
We went first to The Latino Fest in Patterson Park, Baltimore...My Boyo, who is an expert in 2 other martial arts, is studying Capoeira and planned on meeting some of his friends there...so off we went. Oh, the music, the food, the *vendors!...It was super loud, it smelled of all kinds of exotic foods (yum), and everyone was smiling and moving to the music.
Here he is playing his berimbau (a brazilian musical instrument), I think he's getting quite good...and exceedingly cute in this picture. :) sigh.

He's playing here...
It was a good time. I love to see him doing things he likes.
My Thing
We've established over the years when a yarn store is nearby, we'll visit it. There is no time limit...there are no loud sighs to signal "Are you ready to go yet?"...and there is always a good commentary on colors, yarns, and patterns. He would give you a good critique of the ones we've visited.
He has an eye for what looks good. It's like "Straight Eye for the Confused Girl" He always bails me out from fashion faux-pas.
The LYS adventure begins....
A Good Yarn in Fell's Point, MD

They had a good small selection and the staff was super friendly and conversational(unlike some stores that will remain unnamed)
I did get some yarn and some addi naturas from them...
Saturday, I got some Wildfoote sock yarn from Folk Art Studio when Pixie and I picked up our Pottery. I love these little skeins.
I'll update tomorrow with my treasures.
This update will include my skeins of Strawberry Creme Cotton-ease I got for less than $1.50...my new *buddha...the delish cottons I picked up on Sunday to make the one skein wonder...and the cute skeins from FAS.
It was a good weekend.
Relaxing and good for hand-holding and making eyes at one another.
*I also was gifted with Buddha#59...no matter where we go, we find them...it's so cool...at a latino fest? Please. It's good karma.
Posted by Heather at June 20, 2005 09:44 AMDammit!, how cute are you guys!?!!!? :D
Relaxing weekends are the best.
You look so happy with your little bag of goodies...awwwwww :P
Hey, next time we're gonna get you in the roda, or at least playing the pandeiro. :P
Good fun, we'll see what's happening this weekend (got any other shops in the Bmore area?).
charles (boyo)
Posted by: charles at June 20, 2005 10:31 AMIt seems like this was a pretty good trade, not one of those comprises that leaves both members pissed off the whole time. Capoeira is so cool, it's awesome that your honey is learning. Maybe I will, someday. I love your pink outfit, you look so cute in front of that yarn store! That face just screams "I deserve to be bought copious amounts of cashmere." :P
Posted by: Jenna at June 20, 2005 11:14 AMThe weekend looks fab. I'd be quite partial to the food... I bet there was some good stuff there. And who knew your boyo had such dancing skills :-)
You've got yourself a keeper (but you knew that already)
One of the cutest couples on a blog, hands down!
Posted by: Becky at June 20, 2005 11:29 AMIt was great to hang out with you and Pixie at FAS on Saturday, H.
What a cute Sunday you two had! I am glad that you were able to make it to A Good Yarn--I still have not been there yet. Looks like fun!
Hope to see you this week!
xoxo
Posted by: Lolly at June 20, 2005 11:51 AMwhat an awesome boyo you have! my hubby doesn't have as much patience. Can't wait to see your treasures!
Posted by: Moni at June 20, 2005 01:08 PMI'm really happy to hear that you two had a good weekend!
Any advice on getting my man into a yarn store? He'd rather have his toemails removed than to enter such a place!
I must admit that your man also has a knack for making great fiber-comments... sigh... you lucky girl!
Posted by: Keowd at June 20, 2005 02:18 PMNow that's my kind of weekend. Looks like tons of fun! Charles looks awesone in his playing pose. I wish he would show me that in person.
I still have not been to A Good Yarn. Can't wait to see your new stuff.
Very cute pic of you! :-)
Posted by: Eilene at June 20, 2005 05:15 PMCute outfit! I'm still trying to figure out what Charles was doing on the ground (looks like break dancing but I'm sure it wasn't) :) I cannot wait to finally meet you and Pixie. You make my spirit jump for joy!
