hola!

Well, I'm back and rested...

8 days in Cancun was just what the Doctor ordered...long enough to get rested and make you miss everything familiar.

The weather was perfect. The drinks were refreshing. The natives were welcoming. The tequila was, well, flowing.

I've picked the best pictures to share...

garden_oasis.JPG
This was the garden view (our first room) from the balcony of our hotel
So beautiful...
balcony_view.JPG
We were lucky to "upgrade" to an oceanfront room on our second day!
Amazing...

One of my favorite things I indulged in...
cervesa_heather.JPG
Una más cerveza, por favor!

garrafon_view.JPG
We went to Garrafon Park...it's an adventure/nature park on Isla Mujeres (across from Cancun)...I tried Snuba (snorkel/scuba)...and quickly discovered that while nice and peaceful...I prefer regular snorkeling. :)

The best part was laying around in hammocks!

I know this is silly...but after our dinner out...our waiter made me this...
PICT0315.JPG
A paper rose...isn't that crafty?

henna_tat.JPG
This is as close as I will get to a tattoo...Henna!
(aren't I red? ow!)

heather_coba.JPG
We also went to Coba...it's not as commercial or as restored as Chitzen Itza. We mountainbiked through the complex and climbed up!
It's the second tallest mayan pyramid. Only 5% of the complex is uncovered.
You can see me in the pink t-shirt.
Man, was it H.O.T.
I thought my face was going to melt off...

I had a marvelous time...Can you tell?

Knitting? I got your Knitting right here!

retro01.JPG

I did knit while I was there! My fiery bolero had to stay stateside due to losing one of my denise US5's (grr!)...but Retro Rib was with me all the way...
I knitted in the room before bed every night...I knitted on the plane.

This is that Tess Designer sock yarn...I have to say I am in love with this yarn. I think I like it better than, ahem, koigu. shhh...keep that under your hat...but I really do.

It's good to be back - I missed my Pixie like crazy!

Next up...Audrey!

H is BACK! Back in red! (how many times did I tell you about the sunscreen, chica???) The pics are fabulous! What a treat to get upgraded to an oceanfront room too--that view is amazing. All of the pics are great, but I particularly like the Mayan pyramid one. That is so cool that you got to go there. Those stairs look steep.
Very cool henna tat! how long does it last?

Can't wait to see you~you have to show me this pretty sock in person.

xoxoxoxo Glad you are back :)

Welcome back, I missed you!

You're so cute I can hardly stand it.

I have *never* wanted to go to Cancun before seeing your pictures. Now I'm probably going to be surfing the internet looking for deals. ;)

It's great to hear (er, read) that you had a great time, but I am very glad you're back!

You look like you had such a great time! How awesome. And the pictures just make me want to hope a plane right now and go down there!

And on a side note, I used to do henna when I was in college. I was pretty good at it too, but ever since I took up knitting, it's sort of gone by the wayside! I suppose that sort of thing happens a lot, knitting's so darn addictive!

Yippie!! Way to have fun! I am glad you had such a great time! BTW, my blog is back up and running, not sure what happened to it these last few days. Can't wait to see your FB!! I almost decided to try that one, but decided on that wrap instead. I'm going to use that symphony yarn for it! Luv ya!

WELCOME BACK! Man, I love those shots of Me-ji-co. I wish I could've been there. It sounds like you had a great time, and you deserved it!

P.S. I didn't even get a chance to break out the Cathay during my own vacation. It looks like we'll get to work on the Fiery Bolero all together now. Woo hoo!

Love that postcard perfect back drop in your pictures. Clear blue water and palm trees. I'll bet that it was hard to leave. And how kewl is that tattoo? :) Glad that you've caught the sock bug. They're great portable projects. Welcome back! You were truly missed.

I know this is not your latest post, but I had to comment. You look so happy and cute on these pictures. BTW, I wish my legs looked like yours. You won't find a pair of shorts anywhere near me, that's for sure.

And that tattoo, you should get the real thing!!! Don't be a chicken, it only hurts like hell for a little while. ;]

Love the choice of black for the bolero.
