D Day with a side of New Work Knitting

I was waiting around yesterday in the Borders, and I purchased Knits End by our very own Yarn Harlot. I was reading it in line, chuckling to myself. I love this little book...I'll be getting it signed at S&W.

I also got the new Vogue Knitting. I checked out the other mags, but they totally offended my sense for non-boxy knits. I find that I only really buy Knit.1, IK, FCEK, and Vogue these days.

I discovered yesterday that I do not have good work knitting with me...I mean Rogue's hood is a strictly at home knit project...it's just too bulky and I have all these bits that surround me while I'm knitting. Like my row counter, my Magna Board to keep my place on the chart (thanks ei), my ipod, my dpn disguised as a cable needle, and my big project bag. I think it would be too noticable that I wasn't really following along in the meeting. Heehee. I need discreet knits for work.

So I give you...

I also got this to make it with...
Lion Brand Incredible in Copper Penny.
It's what the pattern called for. I lucked out, because they only had 6 skeins left in this color...I needed 5!

Here is what it looks like knit up for the back...I did this little bit at Knit Nite yesterday.

It's another quick knit, brought to you by Big Needles and Return to Flight Meetings (US10s & US15s). I love me a quick knit.

Where to wear? I am going on vacation in late May, I thought it was perfect for a dinner by the caribbean. This ribbon, I really like the way it feels...kinda crunchy.

Well, today I have a short workday. I am going into Virginia for the Duran Duran concert...and I'm ready with my disposable camera...I've been told cameras are outlawed. We'll see...

I have to keep the teenybopper screams to the minimum...I am 30 years old after all!

Inside I will be screaming...(yeah right...I'm screamin!)

Have a great weekend!

I'm totally jealous. I went to a D2 concert in '85 with my pals and we took a bedsheet with "we love you Simon" written on it. He's dreamy. Have fun at the concert tonight!

Green with envy but so glad that you get to go. Scream some for me. I saw the Seven and the ragged tiger tour (whatever year that was). I just realized that was over 20 years ago. I'm so old...

Nice choice for the work knitting. I like it. Looks like everyone is getting into their spring knitting. Maybe all of this collective spring knitting will actually bring on spring? One can hope. Have a fantastic time at DD!

I see many Duranies have a think for Simon - not this girl. John was my guy!

Hope you have a blast tonight and end up hoarse tomorrow - I'm sure it'll be worth it!

I went to the Duran Duran show in Seattle (well, Tacoma) about a month ago and those boys STILL have it. Woo! I'm glad you got to go.

I can't wait to see that VK wrap on you. Somehow, the models in VK always look a little unreal. It'll be fab on you, though.

That is going to be one HOT knit for your trip. I love it!

How was the DD concert? I can't wait to hear all about it! I bet you screamed out loud! ;-)
