More Stuff...

Well it's the spring season...time when all sorts of magazines and new yarns come out...
I seem to have fallen prey to their beguiling call...

This I purchased from Rikes Wollmaus...my spring project.
More on that later...

Here is my last AC Moore/JoAnne's Excursion plus a Rowan Mag I just got in the mail. Pretty soon my Boyo isn't going to let me leave the house or go on the internet without promising not to purchase yarn or yarn related items.

*yes that is a ChocoCat cellphone case. I couldn't resist. I *heart* ChocoCat*

I can't wait to finish Rogue...I feel like I knit too slow, but I really only have like 1-2 hours a night to knit. But I really relish that time...I also decided to knit the sleeves at the same time. I think that it will really be quicker that way and I definately won't get second sleeve syndrome.
I knitted up the hem last night, and it was super easy! I was very shocked. I love knitting both of them at the same time...I think when possible, all my sleeves will be done this way...

I am also using a very slippery yarn to make my boyo's manly kufi. It's Berroco Cotton Twist, my LYS said not to attempt to put it on a swift, as it would become a mess of tangles. So I hand rolled it, and frankly it doesn't like to be messed with at all. Plus it's really a splitty yarn (due to the rayon). Berroco Cotton Twist is pretty, but bleh as far as knitting with it.

He wanted a red stripe. I aim to please. He also gets very jealous when he sees me working on Rogue...I get this when he catches me... "Hey! What about my hat?!!" I really have to work harder to get it done to end all this pouting, but I am so into getting Rogue done!

Tonight, Pixie and I will be on the road to earning our Laura Ingalls Wilder Patch! While we are learning about her, one of our tasks is to experience how different life was back then...We will be learning how to churn butter...where else would I be doing something like that with my 6 year old? I love it!! How cool is that?

Will you use one of those big old fashioned churns? I think we just used cream or something in a glass jar and we all took turns shaking the stuff out of it. Have fun!

Nice stash acquisitions! I think I'm just starting to get yarn buying fever again. I can't wait to see what you think of the new Rowan magazine. I haven't been able to get my hands on it in person and I'm not sure I want to order it, but my resolve to look before purchasing is crumbling.

Have a wonderful time churning butter -- it sounds like a sure way to discover that women used to use more muscle on a daily basis than we do today. I was such a big fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder when I was a kid. I can't wait until my daughter gets old enough to share the books. (What a relief from princess stories that will be -- women who actually *did* something other than look pretty and wait for the prince to come along.)

H...sneak some honey into that butter! Hehe!Sounds like fun.

Isn't it cool how you knit in the hem with one of the rows. I love it! Then when you are finished knitting the sleeves, you don't have to go back & sew up the hem! Way too cool!!!

Love all your new stuff. The pink yarn is soooo pretty!

See you Thursday!!

Hey sweet H! I love the new yarns you got... and maybe (just maybe) I can take a peek at that Rebecca when we get together next time :) I have to try some of that Joann yarn sometime... from your descriptions, it sounds great.

Churning butter sounds like fun--don't forget pictures! :)

Talk to you soon!

Love your recent stash enhancements. I haven't bought anything in ages :(

I coulda warned you about that cotton twist. I bought a bunch on sale this summer and after knitting a quick swatch, not only did I find that it was heavy but it split like crazy. I kept the skein that I swatched and promptly returned the rest of it. I can't even bear to touch it - yuck!

Churn butter?! I am so jealous...I was so into those 'Little House' books--that'll be so much fun.

Looks like you came home with quite a few knitty things...mmm wonder what the Spring project is!

Oooh, yes, I have had many a screaming match with Cotton Twist. I swore at it. I have promised never to knit it again. but of course, there's more in my stash. Will we never learn???

Yay for two sleeves at a time!

That sweater on the cover of Rebecca is so cute (except the puffy sleeve part). I have to go find that new mag. Have fun churning butter. Wait until you taste it, you wouldn't think it would be that different, but it really is good.

I LOVE that shade of pink you got! I can't wait to see you cast on for this baby.

Please share pictures of the butter churning!

Hi there! Lolly just pointed me to your blog since we seem to be knitting Rogue with the same yarn. Are you using Classic Elite Tweed? If not, they look very similar. I had the SAME problem with skipping hood decreases. I'm afraid I may have to rip back, but I'm not thinking about it now...I'll think about it tomorrow. ;)

Love that new pink yarn. I think, when I give Rogue a go, I will try to knit both sleeves too. I have done that before and it is great.

Lovely tea invites too. Your sister is very talented. :)
