Crankin Away

Well, I don't have any real progress pics, but I can tell you that I am on row 15 of Rogue's neck cable and her back has been completed.

I am noticing that I am really bad at knitting it when I am among friends.
Say, uhm Knit nite.

Most of my progress on the last knit nite had to be ripped back.

It's so funny, Ei and I would be like "shh! Okay, I am on the cable now" Then complete silence - well aside from the knitters muttering of "hm next stitch purl hold to the back, mmm, ahhh...good. My stitches worked out" Or "Oh, man what did I do? Where is my stitch? oh! There it is!" Or (from me) "#$^@&!!"

Yes, Keeping this in mind, I will be bringing lovely Banff to work on for Thursday's Evening of Knitting. Don't you just love that color? Stay Tuned!

Whoa! That will be two projects active for Chez P'Stikz! Stop the Press!

With the straight needles, Rogue's a bit cumbersome to lug around with me...so this representation will have to do.

You want progress, I got your progress...

I have to say, that I still am in love with this knit. It is so interesting, and knitting the stockinette is just a teaser for the upcoming cable. (Please remind me of this statement when I am trying to graft the hood) Hey, the laundry is piling up and Rogue is to blame!

Pixie and I went roller skating again this weekend, I am telling you that child zips around like she owns that rink! She uses their "Skate Aid" which really is a mini walker for kids on wheels...she ventured out holding ol mummy's hand and did really well on her own. It is such a blast from the past to be skating with one's 6 year old to MJ's Thriller! Now it's retro, but way back then in '84...it was a HIT!

Hi H,

I'm so glad that you're enjoying Rogue. I had the same problem that you're having when KIP with mine. I think that's part of why I haven't finished the sleeves yet because its rare that I have uninterrupted time. Be sure to find a quiet place when grafting the hood. It's very gratifying once you do it but somewhat challenging in the moment. Best of luck. I miss ya!

too funny your mention about rogue plus knit nite equal rip 'cause that's how i feel about anything other than St st when i'm among friends trying to knit. think that's why i don't really don't knit anything too complicated 'cause i'm always doing something else. well swatched for rogue this morning and have two yarns in the running. i plan on trying a sleeve first to play with that cable. wish me luck. and banff is the perfect travel knit. i just may have to follow your lead on that one. great color!

H, I did not know you were planning to do Banff. I think it will be great on you! Where did you pick up that navy yarn? yum yum

I miss knitting with you on Thursdays--damn class. I think I would learn more from you than in that class :p

Talk to you soon, girl!

That yarn looks yummy! I love banff, someday I'll make one. I don't think I'd be a good social knitter, although I'm desperate to be. I can't easily knit garter without looking.

Keep on with those 80s refs, lady! I love 'em.

P.S. I got MJ's Thriller when it CAME OUT. On cassette and album. [CD? What's that?]

MJ's Thriller is a classic! Someone on the radio program I listen to this morning mentioned it and I was thinking that I would like to download a few songs from that album for old times sake. I'm glad your doing Banff! I've always really liked that pattern. It will be nice to see how it turns out.

You are just too funny girlfriend! I had to come to a stop on Rogue...I'm on the neck cable also but am so confused because it is split and doesn't make sense. I'm finished the back!!

How far are you on Banff? Looking forward to seeing that one.

I can't wait until we get our ipods!!!

I used to love roller skating. Glad you had fun.

Heather you are knitting SO FAST!!!! I'm so impressed with you and Ei. The story of your knitting nite with the quiet cabling is hilarious!

I think it's a good idea to start a new project for social knitting, but I should also warn you that this you have opened the door to having more WIP's. . . not that there's anything wrong with that. I tried to cut back on the number of WIP's and now I find myself highly annoyed that I don't have a really easy project to bring with me when we go to hockey.

We're going rollerskating in two weeks, which will be my daughter's first time on rollerskates, though she started on ice skates this year. We're going to a friend's 40th birthday party, and her husband is doing all 80's music for it, so I'm looking forward to having my own 80's flashback with my dauthter!

Hi H,
I just went to Knitty and checked out Banff..really cute...it will be adorable on you.
Oh how I love patterns with a gauge less than 4st/in.
Can't wait to see your Ipod. Will you have it by Thursday??
