Hello All!
Welcome to my new site, Pixiestikz. I just love change, don't you? In between finishing Zim and making headway on Rogue, I have been tweaking my new site. There are a few finishing touches I have to do...but all said I am just dying to have this guy up and running.
Here is my progress!

Rogue as of this morning. I have to say that the directions for this pattern are so easy. As you can tell I decided to eliminate the kangaroo pocket. Have to say, not a fan of the pocket flap in front...it was so easy to eliminate! The cables have me really zooming...I don't know about you, but doing intarsia and cables seem to make the knitting much faster, IMHO. Also it's making me a better more concentrated knitter.

Life sometimes gets so hectic!
Pixie and I have been really busy with our new activity...Girl Scouts!!
That is right...the Pixie is a Brownie! We got our brown vest and on Friday Nite we earned our first patch for Roller Skating! (Oh, My Achin' Back!) I laced up the rental quads and off we went. It was comical. Thank goodness for the middle of the rink, and those walk-alongs they have for the littler and inexperienced skaters! At the end of a long 2 hours, I had managed to get a few laps around the ol rink, with the non-beginners, skating to the Pointer Sisters! It was a total blast from the past! My mom and I LOVED to roller skate in the 80's! Pixie was a whiz and wants to go again. (Note to Self: Find a good back brace)
As everyone knows we got about 6-7" of lovely fluffy powder over the weekend. So Pixie and I stayed home and just hung out all day, yesterday. We did some crafty things, slept in, and ate all of the good junk food...I got quite a bit done on Rogue, all the while watching stupid TV...like ElimiDate and Regis and Kelly. It was good while it lasted...Back to the grind.
Thanks to everyone who complemented me on Za-Za-Zim. I really put a lot of time into her...and I have been blocking her for her debut (plus I am really OBSESSED with Rogue)...
Change your links, subscribe to me on Bloglines...this is my new home!
Posted by Heather at January 21, 2005 03:42 PMSweet H! Great new site! I love your background! *pink* I missed you this weekend... did you pick up the pottery at FAS?
Rogue looks superb. Love it!
Talk to you soon! :)
Posted by: Lolly at January 25, 2005 03:12 PMI love Rogue. The fact that you successfully eliminated the pocket makes me want to knit one too. I think the pocket gave me pause... I'll have to see your FO before I decide.
You changed the background of your new digs... I like this one better.
Love you!

Hi Heather - Love the new site & what you've done on Rogue so far. I may have to add this to the list myself!
My DD#2 is a Brownie too! This is her 2nd year. She loves it so much that she convinced my Niece#1 to join. I'm the leader of the troop and my SIL is my assistant leader - we have a blast with the kids. Enjoy!
Love the new site. Oh - girl scouts only mean one thing GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!! I used to be a brownie, it was so fun... ahh the good 'ol days.
Rogue is looking good!
Posted by: Kate at January 26, 2005 08:39 AMYour new blog looks great! I'm off to change my link right now. Congrats to your little brownie on her first patch!
Posted by: Carrie at January 26, 2005 08:40 AMI love the new site! I knew you were up to some sort of blog change, but I had no idea what to expect. This is a big color change from the old blog, sort of in keeping with the color change from Za-Za-Zim to Rogue. . . it flows nicely.
Congrats on the Brownie patch, but you do know that you'll be sewing those things on the vest from now until the day Pixie gets her Girl Scout sash, right? Then again, if they gave out patches for learning new knitting skills, I suppose I'd be more motivated. ;-)
Posted by: Susan at January 26, 2005 08:55 AMNice site! I've bought the yarn for Rogue and am very anxious to start, but am a little afraid I will be obsessed by it to the distraction of everything else. I'm leaving in the pocket, but making it a cardigan. Yours is beautiful and I'll be watching your progress with great interest.
Posted by: Dorothy at January 26, 2005 09:36 AMHi,
I love your new site and your Rogue!! I just got the pattern on Monday. What yarn are you using? Thanks, Kim
Posted by: Kim at January 26, 2005 11:13 AMWhat cute new digs you have! Congratulations! Rogue is really pretty -- I wonder if I'll ever get to that!
Yay for Brownies -- I'll bet she's adorable. Yeah, those rollerskating injuries. My last one was a knee -- tangled with a wee one, trying not to land on him, landed on the floor instead, HARD. Ouch!
Posted by: Vicki at January 26, 2005 12:38 PMNice new digs! Nice and pink...I like it. Wow, you are zipping along on Rouge! looks great!
Posted by: Moni at January 26, 2005 01:46 PMLoving the new site!!! Rogue is looking awesome! It looks like you are flying on it--you'll be able to wear it before it warms up!
Posted by: Amanda at January 26, 2005 02:49 PMYay for the new blog, it looks great. :)
I've *really* got to finish my ribby cardi before I start Rogue, but your pictures are givin' me fits! I can't wait to knit Rogue! I'm planning to eliminate the pocket as well.
Okay - off to change my bloglines and blogroll. ;)
Posted by: elisa at January 26, 2005 05:09 PMGreat new digs, miss Heather. Love it. Thanks for the update, I will make the presto-switcho as I'm off to blog anyway.
The rogue is looking super fly.
Posted by: Jenny at January 26, 2005 09:49 PMWow, what a nice place. Never having done cables or intarsia I would guess they would seem to go faster just because it's a little more interesting. Plain stockinette and garter seem to DRAG for me. I remember Brownies! What fun :)
