Discovery of Ancient Egyptian King’s Statue
A 13-meter tall huge statue of ancient Egyptian king Amnhotep III was discovered during excavation work in Luxor, a southern city of Egypt. A severe earthquake which occurred in 27 B.C. might have caused this Egyptian statue to be dumped. Ancient Egyptians have been the beneficiaries of trade, but the victim of natural calamities.
The Egyptian king's statue consists of seven large quartzite blocks. Efforts are being made to make the statue stand erect in its original place.
Two other statues are also found during the excavation which depicts ancient Egyptian history. Some other places in Egypt which are well known for ancient Egyptian history are Toledo museum of art, Middle east market and many more.
